"Hey." He says. His voice is strained, and that alone turns my smile upside down and the calm I felt is replaced with anxiousness.
"Are you okay?" I ask worriedly as I sit at the edges of the bed with no intension of getting comfortable.
"No... I need to see you.. please." He pleads. He sounds like he's in pain. I can feel my heart clench in my chest but I know the pain is not mine.
"Why did you have to do that, Leo? Look what it's doing to you now. Couldn't you wait till he knew?" I hear Leo's dad say from the background.
He sounds angry, uneasy and afraid. What is going on what are they talking about?
"P..please dad, not now. We'll talk about this later." Leo says, then I hear the sound of a door closing.
