~LENNY~
"this week's assignment is to get to know the person sitting beside you and write about them in 300 words." The teacher says. "That's all for today." The class gets noisy as every one gets ready to get out of here.
"I actually like this assignment." I say, glancing at Leo who still seems distressed. His face tattooed with a temporary frown.
"Hey stop thinking about it. I have told you that he is nothing to me." I reassure him. I don't know why he is still worked up over this issue. I am telling him the truth. I have not even spoken more than ten words to the guy.
"I know." He sighs forcing a smile on his handsome face before turning to me with my palm cocooned in his. "I just..I don't know what I would do if I lost you to someone else, especially him. He does not deserve you." He says. Does he like me that much? I ask myself, a little happy that he finds me worth the effort. My open palm finds its way to his chest, just above his heart. But I frown, a bit confused when I realize that it is not beating and his chest is not moving. Does he even breath?
"You do not have a heartbeat." I state, pressing my palm harder into his chest, as if I can force a lifeline.
He just chuckles, making my insides melt, before saying, "not yet. You will not feel my heart beat yet." He says, making me frown harder.
"What do you mean?" I ask but he simply removes my hand from his chest and holds it in his palm then coaxes me to look into his smiling eyes before saying, "Just as it sounds. I don't have a heart beat..yet. And me getting one depends entirely on you." He says, taking pleasure in my confusion.
"This is not a movie or anything like that for you to give me riddles to solve." I say. He is too full of mysteries. Mysteries I'm positive he won't tell me. But it still manages to draw me to him.
"I know. And it's not a riddle. It's just as it sounds." He says.
"What are you hidding from me?" I ask, squinting my eyes, as if I can look through his soul for the answers I need. I see momentary panic flash before his eyes, then completely disappear. But I know it was there. My mind didn't make it up. What is he afraid of?
"Nothing that you won't find out about soon." He says before pecking my lips. I frown and cradle his cheeks in my palm before bringing his lips in for a proper kiss. My tongue sliding accross the seam of his cold but still warm lips as a moan escape his throat and his fingers dig into my hips. He deepens the kiss, causing me to shiver lightly at the passion he pours into it.
We pull back with me panting, my heart beating like crazy and my d**k twitching in my pants. I rest my forehead against his before saying, "that's one way to get my mind of thing...for now at least." I whisper against his lips.
"Hmm...yh." he whispers, his eyes glued to my lips in hunger as his tongue darts out and sensually licks his lips as hunger paints itself in his eyes. " Let's go get lunch before your friends send out a search party." He says, lightening the heavy atmosphere.
"Yh." I reply.
We head to the cafeteria hand in hand ignoring people's stare and some even coo at us. If it wasn't for my supernatural hearing, I wouldn't have been able to make it out.
"Where were you two?" Milly asks as soon as my ass touches the seat.
"In class." I say, taking out my lunch from my bag. It is nothing much, just sandwiches and an orange juice. But Leo goes to buy pizza. He won't get any form of nourishment from it but he did say he eats for the taste. How much blood does he even need in a day?
"Class ended 3 minutes ago." She says with a raised brow, her arms folded under her breast. Making it look bigger.
"Stop making a fuss Milly." Ronny admonishes, making his twin frown but she says nothing and resume her food.
I watch Leo eat his pizza in fascination. I don't even know why I'm enthralled by the way his lips wrap around it or how the cheese makes his lips look deliciously greesy. He smirks my way when he sees me staring, my cheeks flush pink before I mind my business and enjoy my food.
"You're going to tell me soon." Milly mumbles, her eyes threatening me to deny her words.
"I'll tell you when I feel like it." I retort, my lips pulling up into a smirk. Making Milly suffer before getting something is so much fun. She always finds things out, but she's too impatient. And I'll take advantage of that and make her work for it. Where the f**k are these thoughts even coming from? I ask myself, a little bit taken aback by my train of thought.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Leo asks, pulling both my attention and my body to him, so I'm plastered against his side. I don't complain and lean into him instead.
"I will." I say, then continue eating. I didn't realise that I stoped eating because I was thinking of how to make Milly die of being too nosy but not having her curiosity satisfied."When did you finish yours?" I ask Leo when I see his empty plate.
"When you were lost in your head." He replies, pecking my lips.
"Are you okay not drinking blood?" I whisper in his ears. Doesn't he need to drink some? I ask myself. You may wonder why I'm not disgusted with the thought of him drinking blood. I'm a supernatural. There are things that are normal in my world. Leo is a vampire, he feeds on blood. That's it. There's no other choice for him. Werewolves love fresh, raw and bloody meet. That's also how it is. And there is no changing it.
"Don't worry about it." He says, soothing my worry. I say nothing and continue eating with Leo's arms around me.
"What's up Y'all?" Mathew asks as he plops down on the chair beside Leo, a flask in his hand as he slowly sips from it.
"Did you know those two were in a relationship which started yesterday?" Milly asks Mathew. She's not giving this up so easily. And I don't even know what she's trying so hard to find out.
"Yh. I know." Mathew answer nonchalantly.
"He knew. Leo must have told him on the day you two started going out. B... but you didn't tell us." Milly gasps. Her eyes wide and watery.
"What do you want to know?" I sigh at her persistence, giving into to her.
"You're going to tell me everything when we get home." She says, smiling in victory.
"I have to learn from you. You're very determined." Lyca comments, sending a silent message to Ronny who doesn't meet her eyes. What did he do?
That's when I smell it. That cinnamon scent. The one I smelt from my mate. Before I can pinpoint where the scent is coming from...it vanishes. Just like it came from nowhere, it just disappears. He's in this school. That asshole is in this school, and not ones did he try to approach me.
"Babe, are you okay? You're a bit tensed." Leo says worriedly. What am I even doing? I can see how much Leo cares for me, how much he wants me. And I like him too. I like him very much.
"Yh. I'm okay." I smile his way, before pulling him in for a quick kiss. His face lights up at that.
But I feel chills go up my spine. I feel someone's stare...a threatening stare. It makes my bones chilly, and makes me sick with apprehension. My eyes find Ben's, when I search for where it is coming from. His jaws are ticking with how hard he's grinding his teeth. His hands clenched in a fist and his attention fully on me, ignoring Nessa who is trying to get his attention.
"What does he want this time?" Leo grits out, his gaze on Ben whose eyes are stuck on me.
"Ignore him." I say, pulling his hand tighter around me to draw his attention from Ben. But, he's still not here. So, I pull him down to me and snatch his attention the only way I know works. A kiss. And trust me, he kissed me as if he was showing ownership. And it's kinda hot.
"Goddess, he's making things so hard for me." He whispers against my lips with his forehead on mine. Then I hear the snapping of a camera.
"I had to get that on phone." Ronny says with a smirk then puts his phone back in his pocket.
"You need to send it to me. Leo's dads are gonna kill for that picture." Matthew says, then exchanges contacts with Ronny.
"Send it to me too." I say. "I'm going to the washroom." I say then head to the males only washroom.
After using the rest room I wash my hands by the sink and wipe it with a paper towel. The door opens and closes, and the lock clicks in place. In front of the door, with an angry and possessive look in his eyes, is Ben.
"W..what are you doing? W..why did you lock the door?" I stammer, panic creeping in, fear reeling it's ugly head now. He says nothing, but his eyes lingers on my lips longer than necessary.
"What the f**k do you want Ben?" I exclaim, anger overshadowing the fear in me. My heart beating uncontrollably fast, and my eyes are trained on his every move.
"Leave Leo." He says, more as a command, making me quirk a brow at him. Who does he think he is?
"Listen. You can't tell me what to do. Leo is my boyfriend and I'm not leaving him. It's none of your concern anyways." I retort. My anger rising with each word.
"I'm not going to say it again. Leave him, Lenny. You have a mate somewhere." His jaws tick with anger.
"What is it to you? My mate and I's issue has nothing to do with you. Who are you to even talk. Don't you have a mate of your own? Yet here you are, parading this school with Nessa hanging off you." I say, strangely feeling a sense of anger.
After the words fly from my mouth, he's infront of me the next second, his hand around my throat, choking me, making it so darn difficult to breathe.
"Don't concern yourself with things that have nothing to do with you. But If you know what's good for you, you'll stop whatever it is your are doing with Leo." He says, his fingers bitting the skin on my neck. I can't breathe, my lungs burn, I try to pry his hand off of me but it's not working. He's stronger than me.
"You need to take your own advice." I manage to choke out. I don't know what happened next. All I know is he lets go off me like I burned him and leaves the washroom with his eyes anywhere but mine.
I stagger back then lean on the sink for support before I can fall down. After some minutes of getting my breathing under control and trying to hide the marks Ben left on my neck, I leave the washroom and get back to the cafeteria.
"Why did you take so long?" Leo asks once I'm seated beside him. His eyes widen when he sees the marks on my neck, the ones I tried to hide, his jaws tick with how hard he's trying to hold his cool.
"Who did that?" He asks, his cold and icy voice makes my bones chill.
"Nobody." I say instead. I haven't realized how everyone on the table is looking at our interaction.
"You didn't do that to yourself Lenn." He says, before sniffing me. The anger leaking off him in waves as he mutters, "Ben." Before his eyes dart around the cafeteria looking for the one responsible for the handprints.
