Chapter 4

"I am not even surprised that you would act like that, young lady. Because knowing you being a fruit of a tree like Emilia, that response from you should be expected," the old lady said. A wicked smile just immediately appeared in her lips when I put my hand down and turn my powers down as well. "You were the one who was so ready to throw a hand to aunt Juliet. If you want to be respected by younger generations you should've shown something that deserves respect and not something that would trigger us to fight with you, elders," Gillian seriously said that made the old woman glared at us. She really think that because mom would just accept their cruelty I would just let them do that to mom again. My mother did nothing wrong in her lifetime. She was making sure that I could have enough for me to survive a day, week, year and all. She would never complain working over time as long as she can put food in our table and to those who are in need's tables. They would never hear anything from mom. She would just give them what they want and what they need. "The leader will know about this," she threatened us. "Let's go," mom muttered, making sure that none of us Gillian will speak anything with this old lady right here. Gillian held my hand and grabbed it to follow her following my mom. Mom didn't speak a word until we reach the town where the Holiesters that belonged to lowest class were living. Their place was clean, even more cleaner than the surrounding of the other class 2. Their flowers are blooming and it added the beauty of the place. "How are you?" I asked the little girl when she walked towards me and tapped my leg. "Who is she?" She asked. I followed her finger pointing to Gillian. I sat down to level her height and smiled sweetly to her. "She is my best friend and her name is Gillian. She is also an angel and she can also be your friend," I told her. Gillian joined me and offered her hand with showing a sand forming a heart in her palm. "This heart, that means I love you," my best friend said and the little girl giggled. She opened her two palms letting Gillian to put the floating heart sand in her palms. She was so careful not to ruin it. Gillian made the sand heart hard so that the little girl will not get worried about this thing. "She was so happy," Gillian muttered watching the little girl ran away from them holding the heart made my her. "They were not what the other Holiesters said about them. They are not dangerous, they are not heartless, they don't stink. They were clean," I told her and both of them joined mom to hand the packed foods we have in our bags. "Thank you." All of them were thanking after we put the foods in their hand, they were smiling sincerely. I saw the old man trying to fix the huge tank of their water. "What happened their?" I asked the woman in front of me. "Uncle was measuring the water level for all of us to get a water in same amount. We are running out of water and we have no idea when it will rain again," she answered with a smile in her face. I saw Gillian from my peripheral view looking at me. And she was like, how can they even smile despite of their situation here? The entire Holy Kingdom despises them just because they were the lowest class. I wonder if the King and Queen knows their real situation. And if they do, why aren't they doing a thing to help them? Are they just going to let them starve themselves? They are not allowed to go to the Holy City to find a job for their family. They don't have powers like other Holiesters. Some slaves in the Palace came here but most of them are from the class 2. "Amara and Gillian, will you please give that bag in the next hall way?" Gillian and I nodded in unison as we heard what mom just said. We together went to the next hallway and there, the Holiesters who were patiently waiting for us wearing their sweet smile. They were so neat, they didn't run into the other hallway to grab the food, instead they waited in here. "Have you been eating the whole day?" I heard Gillian asked the lady. The lady nodded and smiled. "Yes, these foods and raw goods are good for 7 days to us. Emilia's giving us enough to eat that would last for 7 days," she answered sweetly. I looked at the packed food and raw goods. It would last 7 days? What level of budgeting are they doing? Are they just eating 1 bite in every meal? My heart aches to that realization I have in mind. I gulped and smiled a little when a man came to me to receive the packed food I was handling. I couldn't say a word after hearing that they have to make sure that the food we gave would last to 7 days for their family. I remember that mom came here once a week. She was working the entire week so that she could have enough amount to buy goods and make foods for them. We continued giving them until the last pack. They were so thankful and they even went chitchat with mom about something that I don't understand. "Why?" Gillian and mom asked un unison when I stopped. We were about to go outside of this town and go back home. I remember their tank and the old Holiester measuring it's remaining water for every family. "Their tank, they were running out of water. I guess I can fill that mom," I said and mom's smile slowly appearing in her lips. "I can help!" Gillian said in excitement. I laughed a little and nodded to her. Holiesters went out from their houses when they saw us coming back inside. "Did you forget anything, Emilia?" He was the old Holiester who was fixing the tank and measuring it's remaining water. No one could tell when will be rain's coming. The land was dry, and it was the months of summer. Though, we won't experience hot and light from the Holy Land Sky, the rain isn't coming during summer season. "Yes, we do. My daughters here have something to dp very important for you all," mom said. The Holiesters were murmuring and was so excited to know what Gillian and I are going to do. I raised my palm and a light comes out. Gillian also raised her palm to give pressure to the water I am releasing to fill in the huge tank that they have. "We have idea when will be the rain comes and that is why we decided to fill in your tank. In this time, we need a lot of water," I said and they all clapped their hands. They were so happy with these small things that we had done. How much more if the Palace would give them the freedom they deserve. They weren't supposed to be caged in their own town. They were locked down in here ever since they were born and that is why they don't complain for they were so used to it. According to them, they won't make any reason for the upper classes Holiesters to attack and make them suffer because they can't fight against them. That was a sad reality for them. While filling in the tank, I saw their little garden of vegetables drying. I raised my left hand and motioned it to that direction to water their plants. They can't go outside of their town ans it would ve convenient for them to have their own source of foods in their surrounding. "Thank you for all of these, Emilia," the old woman said and tears flows down from her eyes. She pulled mom into a hug and that touches my heart. I will never disappoint you mommy. I will do everything that I can and I will protect these innocent lives right here. After Gillian and I doing the task we looked at each other and laughed together. The happiness is filling the both of us. The smile in their faces gives light to this dark place of theirs. "This is the least that I can do. If only I have enough power to bring you all outside of this place, I won't hesitate of doing that. But ---" Mom look down and give them a sad smile. "I will bring you all out of here." I was stunned a moment when those words just slipped out from my mouth. They all looked at me like they couldn't believe they just heard those words from me. Me either. Mom and Gillian also stared me like I was kidding. That what I said was impossible and just a dream. "But that is impossible," the old lady said with a sincere smile. She held my hand and kissed the back of it. "We used to live our lives in here and we're just fine with it. But we also won't lose hope that someday, Holiesters will open their arms and doors for someone like us." "I don't know how to that. I don't know when, how long but I promise. Before I die, I will make sure that your children will never grow up caged in their own town," I said with full of courage. I don't even know what knocks my head to say those words but I just feel like saying those words would just be fine. That just gave me a responsibilities in my shoulder and that is to make sure that the lives of this town will always be safe. "We will count on you but don't put pressure in yourself. We are not your responsibility but we are thankful for your consideration about our situation." She pulled me into a hug and that startled me a little. Later on, I just smiled with her action and tapped her back before she released me. "Thank you," Gillian thanked and bow her head before we finally headed our way out of their town. "They were good Holiester," I mumbled. "They are, they are innocent that is why I won't let those greedy Holiesters stop me from helping them. If the officials of the Palace won't give them a hand, I will," mom said with so much determination. "Aren't they come after you, aunt Juliet? What if the officials would react bad about you helping them? What if they'll do bad to you?" Gillian curiously asked mom. I was also thinking the same thing before, until the incident happened that the leader of our town beat mom and Kean saved her. I was thankful for him when he said let mom do what she wants as long as she's not hurting their loved ones. "They will never. And if they will, I will fight them my life. Amara, I never told you to step back when you know you are in the right track. But I also don't want you to use your power to do things that you know I won't allow," mom said and I nodded. She won't meddle me helping those who are in needs because she loves helping Holiesters. I am glad I got a mom who knows principle in life. "You will never do that alone, Ara because you will always have me in your back," Gillian said and because of my happiness I held them both and bring them above that makes them widened their eyes in shocked. When I realized that I was also holding mom. My eyes widened and my heart beats faster because of nervousness. She will surely scold me to death later at home. I pressed Gillian to give her a signal and she understood what I wanted to tell her. She immediately made us invisible so that no one in land would be able to see us flying. "Amara, I told you not to ever use your flying ability! Why did you just flew?" I winced the moment we landed together in our backyard and mom didn't even wait a second and started scolding me. I put cover in my ear as well as Gillian's so that both of us won't hear mom rapping a thing. "I was even shocked of what you did knowing that aunt Juliet was with us," Gillian whispered laughing. "I forgot, sorry!" I answered in grimace. She laughed and throw me a sand luckily I was fast enough to dodge her attack and melt those sand in the air. "Yeah! That's unfair!" she yelled when she saw how her sand faded in the thin air. "It would be unfair if those sun get to enter in my eyes! They would make me blind!" I yelled back. We were running after each other until we get too far enough to mom and get safe with her scolding. I will deal with her later. My hard headed mode just kicked in. I positioned my palm to water our vegetables. "Ara, can I asked you a favor?" Gillian asked while I was watering the veges in the yard. "Sure, what is it?" I asked here. "Grandma needs water in her vegetables as well," she spoke that is why I looked at her. She actually don't need to ask me a favor. She could just pulled me into their yard and tell me water their veges and I will do it. Of course. "Let's go!" I grabbed her hand and pulled her over theirs. I was given the water as one of my abilities and power. I will make them more useful. Because in what else the powers that we got can be used? If not to take care of our environment, where? To ready ourselves when the time that the demons will come and ruin our land again? They already cursed our land, they removed the light that we have. Holy Kingdom of Soldiers didn't even stop training the soldiers in case the day will come that we have to face the demons again. Those are heartless and they won't even think twice of ruining Holy Land. "You know you can just let me walk peacefully!" she retaliates and I laughed to that. I released her wrist and she glared at me. What? Did she really just glared on me? "I want to remove your eyeballs," I told her but she just rolled it right in front of me. "Gillia!" I yelled. "Whatever! We're here, grandma, I'm home!" She put her school stuffs in their tiny sofa and looked for her grandma in their small house. We do have the same house, enough for the two Holiesters to let themselves rest at night. "Amara, you are here," grandma pulled me into a hug when she sees me. I hug her back tightly. I wasn't able to see my grandparents. Mom said, they died when they were protecting Holy Land from the demons and mom was just a little kid who were one of the kids that are not allowed to go outside. The King and Queen made sure that they were safe but their parents who are not powerful enough against the demons died. That now that I have already gain my own mind, my strength, my power. I will never let mom to sacrifice herself for me. It was my responsibility to make sure that my mother is always safe. Mom didn't even know that I put a shield on her. So that those greedy Holiesters won't succeed on hurting her. They want to bring my mother down because they were afraid that her doings will be known by the King and Queen and she will be replacing our town's officials position. Like mom would want that. She would never accept if any of the position will be offered to her. That is the least that I could do for mom. To make sure that she's always safe. Kean didn't even visit mom and we're just fine with that. His father probably told her not to see mom and mom won't force seeing him. She knows that Kean was a good Holiester he just happened to be a son of his father. "Hi, grandma, how are you doing?" I asked her. "I am doing well, I was taking care of my vegetables. Your mother gave me some seedlings so that I cab have my own yard of vegetables. Without doing anything just weakened my immune system," she joked and I chuckled. "Vegetable is the best for our health grandma," I told her and she agreed. "You guys have forgotten my existence. How cruel can you be!" Gillian interrupted. Grandma looked at her and just like that. She gaped when grandma didn't even say a word. I stuck my tongue on her. "What the!" "Grandma, I will be watering your veges. I was doing for my mom as well since the land was getting dry and dry," I said and I didn't wait for her to speak anything and I already motioned my hand and started watering the plants. I was making sure that the level of water get soaked into the land was ample. Gillian was putting pressure in the water until we were able to get the land wet. "I guess, I will not be eating meat from now on," Gillian joked while looking at grandma's vegetables. Grandma just laughed to what she just said. "I know that Holy Land will be so lucky to have you." "What do you think is the future of Holy Land, grandma?" I asked her. "The last war."
