Chapter 22:
Once Helena and the rest of the crew were aboard the Legend, Captain Cox explained the Angels took control of the ship. Once the course was laid in, back to the general direction of the island, he decided to not fight the creatures but to wait and see their destination and reasons for the mutiny.
The Russians fell in behind to give support if needed. The two ships and crews worked well together, better than Helena ever expected. The Russians were running out of fuel. They needed a better source of fuel than the orchard of olive trees could offer. They needed coal, and they needed it badly. The ports along the coast had been removed as possible refueling points. The ships needed to head farther inland now. That would take them away from the German Navy as well.
