Brooke entered the room and came to a halt. Her eyes went to the suitcase placed near the door before she lifted her eyes and looked at Chloe, who sat on her bed packing the last of her books. “It’s really happening, huh?” Brooke shook her head in sadness. “I really thought you would find a solution and wouldn’t leave school and your studies so prematurely. I am seriously going to miss you, girl.” “I’m not stopping my classes,” Chloe said quietly, not bothering to look up and meet her friend’s eyes. “I found a solution.” There was a moment of silence before Brooke made a thoughtful sound at the back of her throat and walked over to Chloe’s bed, taking a seat on the edge. “Then why are your things still packed?” she asked, sounding very confused. “And at the door like you are leaving?”
