Chapter 2

Dominico I don't know what my deal with the lady from last night is, but I know I'm not ready to let her go. Maybe the idea of being a mistress might be appealing to her. Wrapping the towel round my waist, I thought of the possible way to start this conversation. I'm known for my ability to read people and my assessment of her yesterday told me that she isn't an easy woman which is going to make this conversation a difficult, nevertheless, I'm also known for always getting what I want. We didn't exchange our names last night, too busy feasting on each others body to care about that. Chuckling at how desperate and eager she was last night, I pulled the door open and walked into an empty bedroom. I'm not known to panic. There is every possibility that she's in the kitchen fixing breakfast. Getting hold on my pending anger, I walked out of the room in search of my dark haired beauty. As I climbed down the stairs, the quiet environment contradicted the possibility of her being in the kitchen. She left. I think it's high time I came to terms with that fact. My fist clenched at the thought of not seeing her again. How dare she? How could she just disappear without any notice. I'm going to find her, there is no where to hide as far as New York is concerned. I'm going to find her, but before that, I need to focus on sealing my marriage with the Eluta's. It's always business before pleasure for me, always has, always will be. The entrance door opened and Zadok strutted in, looking like he owns the place. He quickly assessed my dressing. "Are you just waking up?" I glared at him. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be handling s**t at the club?" He plopped down on the sofa, picked up the TV control and flipped through channels. "One thousand times, I called you, sent you dozens of messages yet you didn't return any of them." He chanced me a glance. "We're late." I'm never late, I consider them too early. "Did father call you?" It will be unlike him not to call. The ever controlling prick. "Of course he called. I think he called you and as usual, you didn't pick, so he called me to hunt you down." he waggled his brows at me. "Seeing you just showered, that means you had a bird with you yesterday." "Shut up Zadok." I do not appreciate his joke, especially not with the black hair lady. "Give me few minutes, I'll be with you shortly." His eyes twinkled with mischief. "Was she that good to have made you wake up this late?" My scowl deepened. "If you weren't my little brother, I would have gotten rid of you a long time ago." The fucker laughed loud because he knows I don't mean that. Zadok is the only family that I give two f***s about. Thirty minutes later, we were already in the Eluta's property. The Eluta's are known to be hardworking by citizens, but I see them as selfish, that's the only reason they're in the mess to begin with. I may be a lot of things, ruthless, manipulative but one thing I will never do is sell my daughter into the bondage of marriage for my selfish gain. "You don't have to do this." Zadok whispered. He hates the family business so much that he left five years ago, the only reason he returned two years ago was that tragic incident and the fact that I was so close to turning it off. "You don't know s**t about what I'm suppose to do and what not to do. Just shut up and follow me." I opened the door and walked out. Nate, my closest and personal security followed me, trying so hard to ignore Zadok who has been talking his ear off ever since I walked out of that door. Unable to hold it in, he finally snapped. "Jesus boss! Can you shut him up?" Zadok snickered, not taking his words to heart. That is one trait I hate in him. The fact that he doesn't take anything serious. Hell the dude wore pink to our mother's funeral. "There is something off about this family." Zadok mumbled. He draped his hand across my shoulder and I shrugged it off. "Something about them doesn't seem right to me." "Nothing about our lifestyle seems right to you." I reminded him. With the way he distaste the life he is currently living, I'm not surprised that he isn't in support of what he's doing... Hell I'm not in support of this too, my black haired beauty is going to be my mistress just because I chose to satisfy this family's greed. Masking frustration and anger, I walked into the porch, following the rigid housekeeper as he led us to the living room, where we're suppose to meet with the Eluta's. Pushing the door open, the housekeeper ushered us in. I automatically halted my steps when felt the tensed air in the room. Something isn't right and I'm sure Zadok feels it too. "These cunning bastards are up to something." He whispered close to my ear, his eyes duly focused on a nervous Mr. Daniel Eluta. I took notice of the fact that everybody was present, all except my supposed fiancée. Her father Daniel Eluta avoided my eyes, her mother Diamond Eluta looked embarrassed and Sylvester Eluta her cousin glared daggers at me. "Where is my wife-to_" the rest of the words died in my throat when I saw the family portrait hanging on the wall. Zadok must have noticed the sudden change in my demeanor because he too stared at the picture, trying to figure out why I'm suddenly invested in the picture. "Who is she?" I questioned, gesturing towards the young lady in the picture. Daniel followed my line of vision and gulped when he saw the who I'm pointing at. "That's Josephine, our only child, your wife-to-be." Unable to believe my ears, I chuckled deeply. Is life playing tricks at me? Whatever it is, I think I can like it. To think I was considering making this black haired beauty my mistress, not knowing that she's to my wife. "We have a little problem," Daniel mumbled, taking me out of my inner thoughts. "You see, Josephine left the house since yesterday and we haven't seen her." My brows furrowed. "but I assure you, we're going to find her before sunset today." He looked at his wife nervously, silently pleading with her to help him out. "Our Josephine is not usually like this, I can assure you that there is a mix up somewhere, but it will definitely be fixed." My blazing eyes returned to the portrait, and for a moment, I was angry for a whole different reason, not the fact that the woman I am suppose to marry is missing, but the fact that I had the best s*x of my life with her last night. It could have been any random person. Josephine was at the bar yesterday with the purpose of rebelling, no doubt after hearing the news of our marriage. She walked into that club to get back at her parents and possibly me too, which was why she chose to f**k a random guy, a random guy who could have been anybody. That thought alone made my blood boil. "You don't have to be upset," Daniel pleaded "We're going to find her, and we'll bring her back to you. All we ask for is a little more time." Bring her back to me? She's not some sort of property that you just move around. "Stay the f**k away from this situation," I hissed "I'll find her myself and when that happens, I'll inform you both the wedding preparations. Just know that when I find her, I'm not returning her to you, she'll stay with me till the wedding." I saw relief flash through Diamond's eyes "We don't mind if she stays with you, I'm sure that will prevent her running away again." It's obvious they do not want Josephine here, I'm going to do them a favor and take her away to a place where she'll be worshipped. My eyes quickly searched the living room until it landed on a personal portrait of Josephine. "Get me that picture." I instructed Nate before walking out of that living room. If I stay there one more minute, I might snap at Diamond for feeling relieved over the fact that her daughter is being taken away. Standing next to the Bentley, I opened the driver's door, shoved Seth out of the car and took his place. Before I was able to drive away, Zadok opened the passenger door and like always shoved himself into my personal space. I glared at him and he grinned boyishly at me. "You're upset and when you're upset, you do crazy things, and it's my responsibility to make sure that you don't do crazy things. So," he shrugged nonchalantly "You're stuck with me." My grip tightened on the steering, my mind urging me to open the door and push him out but inhaled deeply, fighting that urge. He offered me a stick of cigarette which I wordlessly accepted. "What's your deal with the girl? Josephine...." he tilted his head, as if seeking inner clarification on the name. "You behave as if you care about this girl, someone you haven't seen before." Lighting the cigarette, I took a deep drag, allowed the smoke settle before letting it out. "She isn't just any girl, she's the woman I'm getting married to." Suspicion dripped from his narrowed eyes. "This same woman contacted malaria last year and you didn't bat a lash, why the sudden interest?" he lighted a stick for himself. "Is there something you're not telling me?" That my supposed fiancé consumed my mind even before I found out about her? I'd rather keep that information to myself. "I do not owe you any explanation. I want you to comb the street of New York, make sure you find Josephine and bring her back to me. Also inform the guys to reach out to the airports and seaports, I need to know if she left New York." "I've never seen you so concerned and bothered about someone other than me... And well yourself." "Take your nose off my f*****g business Zadok, just do as you're told!" I need Josephine back before sunset, I need your back in my arms... In my bed. I'm never going to rest until I find her.
