Leslie cannot believe these words she heard. Why does the gentle boy become so ruthless and cold now? Is this man still Christopher? Leslie broke free from Christopher's hand hurriedly and said, "I don't want to go for this test. I won't go!" When Christopher saw her panicked response, he was even more certain that the baby was not his. He thought that it was all Leslie's plot. She must have fornicated with another man. That man impregnated Leslie and planted this on him. But why did he feel rather blue when he thought of her perhaps smiling in another man's arms. Christopher grabbed Leslie's slender even almost broken hand immediately. "Who allows you to leave? If you don't go to the paternity test today, then you can wait to get the divorce papers." Leslie looked at him stubbornly, trying to find a trace of hesitation on his face. She finally chose to stop struggling. The doctor still wanted to dissuade Christopher again. But no one could stand his cold eyes as same as icy knife with keen edge. Everyone was in silence. She was afraid of pain. And her baby seemed to be afraid of pain as well. After doing the amniocentesis, Leslie lay on the operating table in pain with hands on her abdomen. The cold instruments went through her body. It seemed like something was gutted out of her. Everyone went to work on the test results. No one cared about her, and no one dared to help her. She lay alone on the operation table like a piece of discarded garbage. Finally, she walked back to the ward with one hand on a wall for supporting . The hospital brought out the results of the test as quickly as possible. When that 99 percent paternity possibility was shown in front of Christopher, his face was much gloomy than before. The hospital door was slammed with a loud bang. The sound was the greatest mockery for her. It seemed to say, "Just like this". Leslie was left alone in the ward again. The bare and empty ward was cold and frightening. She curled up inert. The doctor came in and sighed when he saw Leslie. "Mrs. Loomis, you have just had surgery. You must pay more attention to your health during this period. Especially you could not do any strenuous exercise." Without any words, Leslie was lost in her thoughts. The doctor could only continue to say, "When you came to check, the child had signs of miscarriage. Although you and your husband are young and vigorous now, you still need to abstinence. This time the baby can be kept, but you may not be so lucky next time." Leslie did not know when the doctor had left. She only heard clearly that she could not have i*********e. The baby may be her last hope. If God thought that she did something wrong, please put all the suffering to her not her baby. This baby was innocent.
