Chapter 3
“Well, that’s done. Finally.” Cinder remarked as he and Daisy stepped out of the mall. Their little trip wound up a bit more drawn out than expected, thanks to one crying baby and a very soft spoken child with a list as long as Cinder was tall. In a few more minutes the shopping center would be shuttering its doors for the evening. The cold air was refreshing after the stuffiness of inside, a melting pot of scents creating a nose wrinkling stink. He drew in a deep breath to cleanse his lungs.
The clear sky gave him momentary pause, stopping him in his tracks.
Focused on something else, Daisy walked right into his back. She stumbled back, a blush instantly coloring her cheeks. “Sorry, sir.”
