Chapter 10 Savannah didn’t dare look back as she raced to catch up with the group. She had no idea they had lagged so far behind when it took her a moment to catch up with them. She heard the c*****g of a gun and a loud whistle behind her, but she resisted looking back. Bennett told her to run, and she did. He couldn’t afford to be distracted. She heard the militia to her left. How they had found them she didn’t know, nor did it matter now. Up ahead the team ran toward her with their weapons ready. Fiona clung to her brother’s side crying. “Take her and keep her safe,” he ordered her before all but shoving Fiona at her. “Joaquín,” Fiona shrieked reaching for her brother, but he avoided her claw like fingers trying to drag him back to her. “Fiona, come on.
