Moving In

Rose POV My days at the Laverne Residence were a never-ending nightmare. I felt like a prisoner, constantly under the watchful eye of my grandfather's lecherous secretary, Linda. She made it her mission to keep tabs on my every move, and I couldn't escape her judgmental gaze. As if that wasn't enough, I was also burdened with the expectation of taking over my grandfather's company. The thought alone sent shivers down my spine. Did he not realize that his legacy would crumble under my inexperienced leadership? I had no intention of running it. And then, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, he appeared. No, correction: he barged into my life without warning or invitation. Liam, that insufferable ugly man. Okay, I'm lying. He wasn't ugly, far from it. With his soft, tousled dark brown hair and piercing grey eyes, he was kind of handsome. Almost too perfect and infuriatingly attractive for his own good. When he gave me that stupid grin with those irritating dimples on his cheeks, I just wanted to strangle him. He was always smiling. What the f**k is he so happy about anyway? I thought he was a total wimp when I met him. Sure, he looked tough with his muscular physique, but he gave out a soft, friendly vibe, which made me think I could push him around and make him my b***h boy. Which was why I was in utter shock when he barged into my bedroom and forced me to get ready for work. No one ever dared to do that to me. Not even Linda. I'll make him pay for that! The incident with Mason left me shaken and afraid. Liam's calm facade shattered, revealing a fierce and angry side that I had never seen before. Despite my fear, I couldn't help but feel a twisted sense of enjoyment at witnessing this raw display of emotion. It showed he was not some weakling to be pushed around. But as I swallowed my pride and thanked him for his help, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease in having this stranger constantly following me around. Did my grandpa really think it was a good idea to hire this rando to shadow me 24/7? The thought made my skin crawl and my stomach turn. Who was this guy, and what was his true purpose for being here? I wasn't particularly mad about what happened with Mason. I mean, I already knew he was a douchebag. But pulling that at the party was dirty, even for him. Was I really that insignificant that he thought he could use me however he pleased? If the dimples didn't show up, I would've kicked him in the nuts. And now I found out that Liam would be staying at the house right under my nose. What a pain. That meant I got to see that stupid smile every day. Thanks a f*****g lot, Grandpa! Marissa called me to ask if I was okay. She was the only 'friend' I had who didn't annoy me completely. Hey b***h! Are you going to the party tomorrow? she asked when I picked up the phone. "Yeah, probably. I hope that asshole Mason is not gonna be there after what he did to me," I said angrily. I told you to stay away from guys like that, but you never listen to me, Marissa whined. "What can I say? I have a weakness for assholes," I laughed. Oh, by the way, is that hottie coming with you? Your supposed bodyguard? She asked. I remembered her eyeing Liam at the party and flirting with him. What a Slut. "I guess so. He doesn't seem to have any intentions of leaving me alone," I said irritably. I don't get why you are complaining. That guy is gorgeous. If you aren't going to hit that, do you mind if I take him off of your hands? Do you think I have a shot with him? Marissa giggled on the other line. What a desperate b***h, I thought. "I don't know Marissa, why don't you ask him instead of grossing me out?" I said. She was starting to get on my nerves all of a sudden. Marissa chattered away for another half an hour about the most pointless things I didn't care about. I sighed as I lay on my bed. I could hear Liam moving around next door. Did he have to stay right next door to me? I bet that asshole old man did this on purpose. So Liam could be close to me and watch me like some creep. I had no privacy in this house. I decided to pay him a little visit. Tell him not to get too comfortable because this is still my house, and he was not welcome. He was moving his stuff and unpacking. His eyes were so focused on his task that he didn't even acknowledge me standing right there in front of him. I cleared my throat to get his attention. He looked up and smiled when he saw me. My heart twitched a little. No one ever smiles at me this sweetly. Just wait a couple more weeks, buddy, and I will wipe that stupid smile off of your face because that's what I do, I thought. "Hey, Rose," he said in a gentle tone. "So you think you can just barge into someone's house and live off of their s**t like a parasite?" I said in a bitter tone. "Boss's order," he shrugged. "I don't need a f*****g babysitter," I snarled. "How about a friend then?" he smirked. Oh please, like I'd want to be friends with this loser. "In your dreams, b***h boy," I grinned. "Alright, well, if you are done insulting me, I am going back to unpacking. I'll see you in the morning when I wake you up, then?" he asked. "I can wake myself up, so no thanks. If you come inside my room and put your hands on me again, I'll shave your head in your sleep," I glared at him. "Oh, and I am going to a party tomorrow. I am assuming you are coming with me. But when you do, stay the f**k out of my way, got it?" "Understood, anything else, my flower?" he asked in a sarcastic tone. Stupid son of a b***h. "f**k off!" I said and flipped him off. "You too, princess. Goodnight now," he chuckled. Great, now I am even more irritated than I was before. Why did I have to come here and make a conversation with this jerk?
