IS THERE SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT TELLING ME?

1049 Words
LEO Sh*t! Emily exclaimed and ran into the bathroom, while I rushed to the door, breathing heavily like a weight lifter who had carried an extra forty pounds. "Would you have barged into his room if I hadn't come out?" I asked Victor, who stood by the door, staring past me for a minute or two; moments later, his eyes bore into mine, suspicion written boldly on his face. "I'm talking to you! Why would you want to come in without being invited huh?" I raised my voice this time, intending to sound p*ss*d. "Leo," he called me by my name, which showed how serious he was. "Is there something you are not telling me?" "What do you mean by that?" I tried being mean, but my shaky voice gave me away. I couldn't afford to spill the secret already. Victor crossed his arms, a sly smile tugging at his lips. "What's with you and your assistant?" I moved closer till we were inches away, then grabbed him violently by the neck. "You've questioned me a lot for the past few hours, and I might end you if you cross boundaries." I didn't mean it, my aim was to scare him away, but Victor didn't flinch as though he knew my intentions. The next words he blurted made my heart stop. "Are you gay?" He asked, scanning my eyes for any atom of lie or fear. I gently released him, the weight of the question pressing heavily on my heart. I took a deep breath, making a split-second decision to protect Emily's identity. "Yes Victor," I admitted as I forced the words out. "Ethan and I are partners." Victor's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You really are gay? For how long?" "No, I would rather we not talk about that. But yes, I'm gay," I nodded, the lie tasting terrible on my tongue. "It's not something I'm proud of, so I don't broadcast it, not even my father knows, so please." He stared at me for a moment longer then shrugged. "It's okay. Your secret is safe with me, but don't forget me; I've been here before him." I nodded in agreement and heaved a deep sigh of relief when he left. When I was sure he was completely out of earshot, I opened Emily's door. "Gay," she whispered. "Thank you, you should get going now." I reached for her boobs again and gave it one gentle squeeze before retiring to my room. Morning came faster than I wanted. Sooner than I had thought, I stood before a sea of journalists as flashes of camera captured every of my movement. My father had sent me a text very early that morning, "Don't be late." I took a deep breath and started addressing the crowd. "Good morning most esteemed audience. As of today, I, Leo Salvador, am resuming the role of CEO in this reputable organisation. As we all know, for ages, we have maintained transparency and reliability; we have no intentions of stopping now. Under my rule, we, the staff of De-Salve corporation, would serve you better. We urge all investors to continue partnering with us as we remodify and rebrand this company," applause from the crowd greeted me, but I wasn't done yet. "I've appointed Ethan as my personal assistant, so....." the reporters didn't let me finish, before throwing those annoying questions at me. "Why choose a male assistant, Mr Salvador?" A reporter asked. I smiled, I had anticipated it. "Well, I believe in surrounding myself with highly skilled individuals, regardless of gender, and Ethan here meets my requirements." From the corner of my eye, I could see Victor standing against a wall, staring dangerously at Emily. The expression on his face was purely anger, it made a chill run down my spine. The questions continued. "Mr Leo, are you under duress? Why did you suddenly agree to be the CEO? What happens to Jasper now?" Those questions weren't what I could give answers to, so I stepped down from the podium. As usual, they crowded me. I expected Victor to come do his job as usual, but he stood at that same spot staring at Emily who seemed lost for a second. Thankfully, she didn't disappoint me; her survival instincts kicked in, though all the nerves in me screamed "protect her" like a pro; she held me, pushing the journalist with her body till we were out of the room. "You did a good job," I whispered on our way back to my office. In response, she ran her thumb over the centre of my palm. I clenched my fist as I fought the urge to grab her immediately. Immediately we got to the company, it was all smiles, everybody wanted to get into my good book. Congratulatory flowers flew in from every angle, but I was most concerned about one thing: my personal assistant's open request for s*x. I called a brief meeting with every staff, where I introduced myself and Emily again. While I addressed them, I urged them to respect each other's privacy and have boundaries. My speech was short for a purpose. The moment I concluded, Ethan followed me to my office, I had requested that his table be moved inside my office to ensure easy communication, as I tagged it. My excitement was short-lived when I heard visitors were waiting for me in the reception. "It's fine, I would wait inside," Emily said. I nodded in response and went down to the reception to see the so-called visitors. I kept wondering why my Dad insisted that I became the CEO, knowing fully well that Jasper had an interest in this position and that I hated corporate wear. Moments later, I ran back upstairs to my office; the sight I met the moment I opened the door calmed my nerves: Emily had come with a s*x chain, which she dangled like it was a bunch of keys. "The room is padded, right? No one would hear me scream?" I nodded and locked the door; I wouldn't make the same mistake I made the last time, not with almost a hundred people around. "Come, but I would lead," she whispered. Like a lost sheep, I walked to her and let her handcuff me. "Sit!!"
