Chapter 7 Taking Medication

682 Words
It had always been difficult for Samantha to wake up early in the morning, but because she was in the same room with a homicidal maniac, she was afraid that her neck would be severed. She was so worried that she couldn't sleep well. She slept for hours intermittently and woke up at six o'clock in the morning. She did not dare to make a sound, afraid of disturbing Henderson. She carefully got up and saw that the man was still in bed. The previous day, she didn't dare to look carefully. Now that the morning sun shone through the window, and the scattered light fell on his face, his well-sculpted face looked flawless. It was so handsome that one couldn't help but be enchanted. Samantha had never thought that a man would look like that. There was not a trace of femininity on him. On the contrary, he looked fierce and dangerous, but thrillingly good-looking. Samantha slowly moved her eyes away and quietly walked to the bathroom. She didn't have any toiletries but she was too timid to ask Henderson. So she tried checking out the cabinet under the sink and found a toothbrush, but there was still no toothpaste. She looked at the only cup on the table and carefully took out the toothpaste. She squeezed a little out and rinsed it off with water before she squeezed some on her toothbrush. After stealing Henderson's toothpaste, she blushed. When she was done washing up, Henderson still hadn't woken up. Samantha didn't know what she needed to do as a young bride. But thinking of young brides in ancient times, they were similar to a servant. And so she thought she should serve Henderson as one, but... She didn't dare. Samantha was a little troubled. Just then, the door of the bedroom opened and a tall man came in with a tray in his hand. There was a bowl of inky-black liquid medicine in the tray. Samantha could smell the scent of bitterness. Brinton Pack paused for a moment when he saw Samantha. Then, he remembered that it must be the young bride that the Madam had bought for Henderson to counteract his bad luck. Brinton thought he wouldn't get a chance to meet this girl. No one in the family had expected to see a woman in Master Falcon's room. For a moment, he did not know how to address Samantha, so he just nodded his head at her. Samantha asked humbly in a low voice, "Are you here to deliver the medicine to Master Falcon?" Brinton nodded and said, "Hello, Miss Jackson. I'm the Master's subordinate. You can call me Brinton." Samantha nodded in return and obediently stood at a corner. She didn't speak but her petite figure was very likable. Brinton put the medicine aside and whispered, "Sir, it's time to take medicine." Samantha did not dare to look at Henderson. Instead, she began to focus on the bowl of medicine. Her half-sister, Wynette, and her stepmother, Liliana Gadd, had always complained that Samantha's mother was a shameless home-wrecker who seduced married men. However, Samantha's mother was actually the precious daughter of a scholarly family. Her grandfather was a famous doctor, specializing in alternative herbal medicine, and Samantha was also gifted with the same talent. She used to live with her grandfather for a few years when she was a child and had learned quite some medical knowledge there. Liliana was hence afraid that Samantha would end up as a famous doctor like her grandfather, and take over the inheritance of Jackson Pharma. Therefore, Liliana sent Samantha back to the Jackson family when she was ten years old. Even so, Samantha's achievements in the medical field were still profound. Without looking at the residue of the herbs, she was able to tell what was inside solely by its scent. "Well, it's a medicine for treating damage in internal organs," Samantha thought. "Hey, girl. Come here." Samantha looked up absentmindedly and saw Henderson's dark eyes. "Come and feed me my medicine," Henderson sat by the bed and said calmly.
