Destiny
I felt my heart drop in my chest as the thunderous explosion rocked the building. I gasped, "Wha...what was that?"
Alpha Aldric's face hardened with an iron resolve. His piercing gaze burned through me like a laser as he sternly commanded, "Something must've happened outside. Maybe the Rogues are attacking. You stay right here, and I will take care of it."
The rogues?
The memories of my past came rushing back. The rogues were the reason why I lost my parents and sold to Alpha Aldric. Will I have to relive that nightmare all over again?
"Wait, don't go. I am scared," I whimpered and grabbed his hand.
Alpha Aldric's gaze softened as he looked at me. He caressed my cheek and answered, "Don't worry, I will be back soon." Then, he stood up and walked out of the room.
