Knowing that Ellie was going out on a run with Ulysses that morning didn't make it any easier to watch her step out of the woods alongside the handsome Alpha. River was at the tournament grounds, bright and early, preparing for the first event of the competition. Trying to keep his mind off of the woman who was hosting the contest and actually prepare for it was more difficult than he ever would've thought possible when he first let his mother talk him into this. Now, watching the tall blonde woman gracefully walk across the clearing next to another man made his muscles tighten and his eyes narrow. He had to look away.
