Sapphire's Point of View The gunshot suddenly threw me into a tumult of despair. Was I still under attack? I thought that was all, or were there spies in our midst? This and many more questions left my mind fuzzy. “Ooh, dear, you look scared,” I heard a tall middle-aged blond-haired he-wolf tittering. “No, I'm not scared, your Majesty,” I replied. "But your countenance says it all, my dear," he insisted. At this point, I gave up arguing and accepted in defeat. After all, it wasn't wise to prove a point in the presence of a stranger whom I hadn't met before. Alpha Sif, wore a long suite-like caftan, well plaited with embroidery designs and with the inscription “Alpha Sif of the Silver Claw Park” on the left breast of his cloth. On his head was a crown made of silver and decorated with some traces of gold, with an eagle, pasted conspicuously at its tip. He looked fashionable and handsome, tall and muscular, even though he looked like he was in his late forties. He proceeded forth with a warm countenance, spreading out his hands in readiness to receive me in his embrace. This was actually new to me, being enveloped in the embrace of a father figure whom I'd always yearned for. Thus, I peeped into auntie Becky's face to ascertain if she was in support, and fortunately, she gave a nod, signifying a go ahead, which I obliged. I ran into his arms, feeling the warmth of his embrace as he enveloped me jealously, thus, causing a collision between my body and his. “You're welcome to the Silver Claw Pack. Feel free to make here your new home, as we'll do everything within our power to protect you and keep you safe.” “Once again, welcome to our Pack,” he concluded. At that instance, I saw a pulp advance towards my direction with a tulip flower. She kissed my cheeks and bowed before finally handing over the gift to me and whispering a soft welcome. In appreciation, I gave her a warm hug, which almost forced tears out of my orbitals. Did I control the tears from dropping? That's a hell no, because I had already run into the embrace of aunty Becky, soaking her dress with the salty liquid. My welcoming event was further proceeded with a feast of all kinds of rich meals, displayed colorfully with lovely rhythms of music to relax and enjoy oneself smoothly. My joy was awakened again. After all said and done, the escapes from the woods was worth it. The whole event came to a wrap with members of the pack taking turns one after one to welcome and introduce theirs. From the leaders of the pulp, the omegas, the enforcers, delta, gammas and elders. Thus, I was mandated to start classes with the Pack's school as soon as possible. My attention was caught by the presence of the Alpha's son, who at that point looked jealous of my presence. He carried this mordacious appearance that sucks. He walked over to me with a grimace which spelled hate. Though he looked handsome and well groomed, tall and muscular with a chiseled jawline, and blue-grey eyes and with short blond hair just like his dad, I could feel he had bad intentions towards me. While also staring at him, he advanced forward and whispered to my ears; “You don't have any place in our Pack, get that into your thick skull, bastard.” Though I was pissed, I refused to let his threat get the joyful part of me, I only viewed him as a distraction. “Hey, don't worry about him, he's just a toothless dog” I heard a concerned voice from behind saying. I turned at once to observe who that could be, only to meet, if not, a girl of my age. “Hi, I'm Bridget, Mum told me a lot about you, and I'm elated to have you in our Pack.” She smiled infectiously, stretching out her arms for a handshake, which I obliged and did the same. “Come with me, let's show you around. I can assure you that you'll love it here.” I nodded, though startled at her level of friendliness and kindness, I followed behind. She held an hand, thus enabling us to walk side by side. “So, once again, welcome to the Silver Claw Pack. I guess you met our Alpha?” She questioned. "Yes, I did, he's such a kind Alpha with father features, your Pack must be so lucky to have him" I suggested. She smiled and hissed a sigh. "Well, rumor has it that he only shows concern for the strong and powerful, when once he notices you're weak, he pushes you aside and seeks the next option,” she explained. "I find it hard to believe, he looks kind and generous” I argued. “You're free to argue dear, it's not a big deal. Just be careful. by the way, I didn't get your name.” "Sapppphire," I stammered. "Nice name there." She avowed. "So, this is the Pack's conference room, where meetings are held and information disseminated. Over there, the room opposite the corridor, is the inner chamber," she pointed out-“It's usually out of bounds to non-high-ranking member of the pack.” “I'd like to see it,” I pleaded. "That's a hard task, but let's try," she replied. "I love hard tasks, it keeps me stronger," I teased. “Then we can walk together if so. I like the same.” She stretched her hands towards mine, yelling, “to friendship,” she teased, “to friendship”. I concurred, keeping my hands over hers. We tiptoed, advancing slowly, thus making sure we weren't observed by any enforcer. We cracked the handle, forcing the door open, thus granting us access to the chambers. While checking out the rooms in the inner chambers, we bumped into an enforcer who was making out while in a standing position. “Look, she pointed.” No wonder he wasn't at his duty post. I guess he never believed that anyone would intrude on his mission. He was immediately startled at sighting us and threatened to punish us. This got us on our heels, running faster than our shadows with intermittent laughter. Though we could say we had fun on the temple run, we knew we were heading for trouble.
