HEMERA'S POV
My body goes limp as Nia bites my skin. All I can manage is a weak cry when it happens. It should hurt, but even though I can feel him sucking my blood out, euphoria rushes through me.
A glazed smile tugs my lips as the endorphins build and build.
I let out a cry as Nia is ripped away from me, and I slump to the ground holding the wound. Now that hurts even through the amazing feeling taking hold.
"Hemera? Hemera, are you okay?" Is that James? I reach out for him with a large, goofy grin.
"Hiii!" I sing.
"Ugh, you're high on venom." James groans, pushing his glasses away as he pinches the bridge of his nose. "What happened? How did Nia get hurt?"
