CHAPTER SEVEN I left early from my North Hollywood apartment and headed up I-5 toward Santa Barbara. The day was gloomy and the most recent weather report warned of another big Pacific storm. We hardly needed more rain with the ground already soaked from the rains the week before. With the impending storm in mind, I figured that I could get all the information I needed from Garth for the interview in less than two hours and be heading back home before the rain got bad. Carly made it clear that she’d like me at the commune on Sunday; she didn’t like the postponement anymore than I did. Being fully in her grasp, I’d do anything to oblige her. I had my own motives too. It has been nearly a month since we had one of our weekends and I was due, pent-up to the point that I was nearly explosive.
