my name is Luca
Hello, my name is Luca Kenzi Roe, I’m a student a Tree Hill High. My fraternal twin sister and I just celebrated our 15th birthday. Tomorrow, we will start our first day of our sophomore year. I can’t believe that we’re finally Sophomores! My parents are thrilled and so proud. It’s just me and my sister, it’s always been that way.
But my best friend, Keith, was always around so it was like my parents had a third child anyway. We grew up together all three of us- well, four, if you count Dan. Dan and Keith where as close as brothers could get growing up but when we started high school a new chapter in our whole life started. High school was when the brothers started to feud more than ever and when I lost my sister for good.
It started with Dan falling in love with my sister and, of course, me always pining after Dan. And Keith pining after Karen that’s when Keith and I decided if we couldn’t have who we wanted we should use each other to make the others jealous. And for a little while it worked. But not exactly the way we were hoping, but I laugh thinking back on those days now.
Tree hill was a very quiet town, a happy town I loved growing up in Tree hill. It’s a town that loves basketball and where the high school students are the future. That was until the four of us stepped into a Tree Hill High. Keith and Dan both played basketball for the Ravens. I was a cheerleader and I loved it. I was also part of the drama club which Dan liked to tease me about. But Keith even joined in the drama club when I asked him you see we were always best friends, and we always did things for each other. Well, he did things for me, he would do anything for me. back then I just didn't know that.
As a sophomore we didn’t really get invited to many parties or got to do very many fun things like the upper classmen did. And Dan he was a freshman, but he was more popular than his brother, so him and my sister got to go to a lot of parties which Keith and I were kind of okay with. Parties weren’t really mine or Keith’s scene we rather they say at home and watch movies and bake cookies and talk gossip or read lines for drama club.
Most parents would be relieved that their kids don’t want to go to parties, not mine. Mine were concerned because my sister Karen went out all the time with her boyfriend, Dan, while me and Keith stayed home. They thought we weren’t getting along with our siblings, or we weren’t making friends like we were supposed to. Which just wasn’t the case, we just have different personalities. OK, yeah, Keith was the only friend I had in school if - you didn’t count Karen or Dan who kind of had to be my friends.
But I was perfectly fine being with Keith. He is absolutely the sweetest guy I’ve ever met and besides you can’t get heartbroken if you never put yourself out there. By the end of our sophomore year Karen and Dan became even closer. Which was not what Keith, and I were hoping at the beginning of our relationship. But by that time Keith and I become even closer like a real couple. As a summer approached all of us, we’re making plans.
Dan had warmed up to the idea that Keith and I should go to parties this summer with him and Karen. And we were hesitant at first but agreed. And we had a really good time there was a bit too much drinking going on but what do you expect with teenagers Keith and Dan even planned a huge celebration for Karen and I's 16th birthday? Everything was going perfect, perfectly perfect. Until one party changed everything.
