It had been a week since Samatha had left. At first, I felt depressed and lonely. Like every other time I was feeling some kind of way, I went to my mother for guidance.
“Alec baby, you’ve never really been alone. You went from Cassandra, who treated you like dog s**t, to spendin’ a wonderful day with Sam. You don’t know what it’s like to really be alone.” She said gently.
“But I don’t wanna be alone, Momma.” I muttered. She gave me one of her patented warm smiles.
“I know, but I want you to think about somethin’. What did you learn from those two women?” I thought for a minute.
“Well, Cassandra treated me like s**t. I never wanna go through that again.” I said.
