CHAPTER 19 Sara Beth arose early the following day before the sun came up. Her mind focused on Layken, she was eager to see how he made it through the first night. She hurriedly dressed in her new pants and tiptoed into the living room. Layken lay sprawled half on the couch, the oxygen mask askew on his face, blowing onto his closed eyes. She covered her mouth to stifle a giggle. The urinal was full. Before daring to wake him, she rushed to the bathroom to empty it. As soon as she returned, she gently slipped the oxygen mask off and turned the handle to the off position.
