That jerk is my husband

Chapter 3

    I walked into the classroom and headed towards the back to take a sit. After a few minutes when everybody arrived, the teacher walked in with a guy who I haven’t seen before in the school. He is handsome, I must admit but he is kinda familiar, I think I know him from somewhere.

“Good morning class, he is a new student, please help him to fit in. Introduce yourself and take a sit please.” The history teacher said the last part to the boy and sat down by his table.

“Hi everyone, I am Jake Morgan and I just moved here from New York.” He said with a smile and I frowned.

''Hi Jake.'' The class said in unison. I don’t recognise his name, but his face is familiar. Since he came from New York, I guess I have seen him there. He was searching for an empty seat when his eyes fell on me. He looked at me with a frown and then walked towards me with a smile when he saw the seat was empty next to mine.

“Hi, can I sit here?” He whispered politely and I nodded at him. “Do I know you? You look familiar.” He asked when he settled down.

“Maybe, I am from New York as well, actually you looked familiar too when you walked in.” I said with a smile. “Mia.” I said and held my hand out for him for a handshake and he accepted it with a grin.

“Mia? You were the girlfriend of Josh, right?” He said with wide eyes when he realised where from he knows me and I looked at him with a surprised expression.

“Yes.. how did you...?” I wanted to ask when he cut me off.

“We went to the same school, that’s why you were familiar. I was the teammate of Josh in the soccer team. He was devastated when you broke up with him. We were listening to his whining for months after that. ´Mia this....Mia that....´” He whispered while he rolled his eyes. 

“Oh... sorry about that.” I said with an embarassed smile.

“It wasn’t your fault, I heard that he cheated on you so he deserved it.” He said with a half smile while he shrugged his shoulders.

“Yes, he did.” I said quietly, it´s still a bit disturbing memory for me, I don´t really like to talk about it so I didn't say anything else.

“I am glad that you are here, I was so nervous about this new school.” He said and I can understand him. It’s not easy to fit into a new group of students in the middle of the year.

“I know what you mean, I moved to los Angel about one and half year ago and the first week of my new school was terrible. To finish your last year of high school with a group of strangers. I could talk about it to you all day.” I told him and shook my head with a small smile when I remembered our first encounter with Ryan and the twins.

“I live in Los Angeles too.” He said with wide eyes. “You drive here every day or you have a dorm room?” He asked.

“We drive here every day. What about you?” I asked him and he suddenly looked sad.

“I don’t have a car yet so I live in a dorm room and go home for the weekend. Maybe we can hang out sometime.” He said and I nodded, he seems nice. 

“Yes, we will see.. do you need me to show you around the school?” I asked him kindly.

“That would be really helpful.” He said with a grin. We stood up when the bell rang and he looked at me with a shocked expression on his face.

“Ar...are you pregnant?” 'Here it goes... '

“Hmm... yes, I am.” I said with a nervous smile and we walked out of the classroom. I think I caught a dissapointed look on his face, but then he masked it soon and just smiled at me.

“Congratulations. To be honest, I didn’t expect that. So I guess you have a boyfriend as well then.” He asked and waited for my answer eagerly and I nodded at him. 

“Husband, actually.” Someone said from behind us and I know that voice very well. We turned around and there he is with a jealous look on his face.

“Hey...” I greeted him with a smile and went to hug him. “Jake, this is Ryan, my husband and the father of my baby. Ryan, this is Jake from my old school in New York.” I introduced them with a smile.

“Hi, nice to meet you.” Jake said with a smile what looked like a bit fake and held out his hand towards Ryan, but he just looked at it so I nudged him on the side so he accepted it finally.

“Hi, you too.” He murmured and pulled me closer. I love his possessive side but sometimes it’s a bit embarrassing.

“Jake, will you join the soccer team in this school as well?” I asked him to make a conversation before Ryan kills him with his eyes.

“Yes, I want to... if they accept me of course.” He said with a nervous laugh.

“We have practice today after school, just come by and we will see what you got.” Ryan said to him now with a bit friendlier tone.

“Really? Are you playing too?” He asked Ryan with a lot of enthusiasm.

“Actually, I am the captain of the team and we are short on players so you arrived at the good time.” He said and Jake was grinning from ear to ear.

“Cool... I’ll be there.” He said and I am glad they are talking on friendly terms now. I caress Ryan back to show him that I am proud of him and he smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

“I will introduce you to the guys.” I said to Jake when we reached the lockers. Everybody greeted him and the guys started to talk about soccer while I talked to my sisters.

“Dyna, can I go with you and Kelly after school?” I asked her since she is the one who is driving.

“Of course, sis.” She said with a smile and gave me a side hug. 

“Mia, how do you know the new guy by the way?” Kelly asked when the guys didn’t pay attention to us, they can be oblivious to the people around them when they talk about soccer.

“He was a teammate of Josh, we didn’t know each other personally but apparently he heard a lot about me from Josh when we broke up.” I said with a shrug. 

“Oh, I see. He seems a good guy.” Kelly said and I nodded in agreement and look towards Jake who was laughing something what Dom said.

“I think so too and he lives in Los Angeles as well.” I said with a smile.

''Really? That's great, maybe he can join us when we throw a party next time.'' she said and Kelly nodded along.

''Yes, I already told him to hang out with us sometime.'' I said with a smile.

We were talking till it was time to go to our next class and I turned towards the guys.

“What is your next class?” I asked Jake.

“It’s biology.” He said after checking his timetable.

“I will have the same, I will show you the way to the classroom.” Ryan said to him with a smile.

“Thanks man.” Jake said and they fist bumped each other. “See you later Mia.” Jake waved at me and Ryan gave me a kiss onto my lips.

''I am proud of you, you know?'' I whisper into his ear and he smiled and winked at me before walking away. ‘This went well...’ I sighed and headed towards my next class.

    The rest of the day went fast and we are sitting in the cafeteria all of us together because it´s lunch break. Jake warmed up to the guys fast and now they are laughing and joking with each other. 

“Ryan, where will you do your project for biology with your partner?” Jake asked when we were eating.

“In the library.” Ryan answered with a shrug while he bit into his sandwich.

“Oh, and where is it?” Jake asked with a frown. ''I am just asking because I need to do that project too, even though I just started today.'' he said and rolled his eyes.

“It’s on the second floor at the end of the corridor.” I told him and he nodded at me with a smile while he said ‘thanks’. 

“Guys, why don’t we go to the beach this weekend?” Dom asked with a silly face.

“That’s a great idea Dom. Jake would you like to come with us?” I asked him and he looked at me excitedly, but then cleard his throat.

“Sure, if it’s okay with everyone.” He said shyly and everybody said ‘of course’ or ‘sure’ so Jake just smiled happily at me.

“It will be a hot weekend so we better go...” Kelly said when she checked the weather forecast on her phone.

“That’s settled then.” Dom said happily and kissed Dyna on her cheek with a lot of salvia like a kid. Tyler just shook his head on his brother’s behaviour.

“Ewww.” Dyna said and after wiping her face with the back of her hand and tried to lick his face too. They are like two kids. 

“Okay... guys. We are eating..” Kelly said with a disgusted expression on her face and they both said ‘sorry’ with a silly face and continue eating. All of us shook our heads at them with a smile, they are made for each other.
