Sara froze. “Brother?” she whispered. He nodded hesitantly, maybe even a little guiltily. “That’s why I’ve been following you. The pack had their reasons for sending me but I also had my own.” Terrence fiddled nervously with his fingers on the table. He was tense and it was setting off the protective instinct in Tony and Jackson. “What were their reasons?” Tony asked. He lifted a shoulder. “They had several. One is because they don’t like me being underfoot. In our pack, everyone has to contribute, somehow. Even the children. You don’t contribute, you don’t eat. I was there when everything imploded so I was sent to watch Sara.
