Prologue.
I was running, the moist moss ground beneath me slippery but I paid it no heed, my breath coming out in sharp pants, my arms stretched out to push away obstructing branches. It was a daunting reminder of something cruel from my childhood.
A howl rang out in a not far distance, followed closely after by angry yowls and growls, and I gasped, first at the feeling that course through me at the sound and the cold raw fear that coursed through me.
Then I felt it..an assault of heat that began from my mid abdomen and coursed through the whole of me in less than a second, making me falter in my steps at the realization...
They were near. My ears could deceive me, and my nose could fail me..but that odd feeling was always there whenever any of them neared.
I took a turn in desperation, only to groan in despair when I realized the huge blunder. A huge rock stood in my path, and in the condition I was in, climbing over it proved to be impossible.
A twig snapped and I immediately turned towards the sound, and there he was. Big, angry and incredibly hungry. He took a step closer, and a deafening challenging roar sounded to the right, bringing my attention to another. Just as big, and if possible even hungrier.
He growled at the other in challenge, for what I had no idea.
The heat was back, so sharply and intensely focused from behind, I had to turn, just to realize another stood in wait. Silently watching me through blood red eyes, and he seemed the closest to pouncing.
The two noticed the one behind, and they forgot their feud with one another to growl deep and angrily at the newcomer, their ears pulled back, ready to attack at the first sight of aggression.
He stood straighter, and I could've sworn I saw him smirk in challenge on that terrifying face of his as he moved tauntingly closer towards me, and the two immediately tensed, and just as they were sure to attack we all felt it..
An aura. A presence, deep, dark and dangerous. And suddenly I was overcome with the incredible need to fall to the ground and turned my belly upwards in submission. All fear forgotten, feeling as though I was born for this moment.
And then he emerged. The most hideously powerful wolf I had ever seen. The pressure emitting from him so deep I couldn't help the whimpers from the back of my throat. I submit I wanted to shout, I submit.. but my throat was closed up and all I could do was stare in awe.
A prime alpha.
The three wolves also stood in shock and a bit of fear, but the smirking one came out of his stupor first and to my incredible shock moved towards the big wolf in challenge. And not to be out done, the two moved in as well.
He might've been a prime, but they were still alpha's. And they bowed to no one. Least of all me.
