Abigail looked up from the book she was reading when she heard sounds outside the door of Lorenzo’s room. She did not put too much thought to it and returned her eyes to the words on the page. It was a David Baldacci novel, not her everyday cup of tea, but it had been her only option when she had practically begged Gabriel for a book or something to keep her busy before she went mad from inactivity. She was sure her brain cells had begun to fade away. Gabriel had reluctantly agreed and given her one of his novels.
