Chapter One- Single White Female
Her fingers pulled the straps of her stockings back to their respectable places upon the garter that wrapped around her petite waist. With her long raven hair having fallen down the center of her back, she pulled the bra from the floor that had been torn off just moments prior while in the throws of passion. The eyes that fell to her had belonged to that of an unnamed man with whom she had completed her end of the unspoken deal. Luckily, he seemed to share the same desire to rid her as he pulled a cigarette between his chapped lips and gave it a light. The light from that very cigarette was enough to allow her a chance to see his face in the darkened hotel room. A final look at her latest conquest. For a moment, she could see the sinister smirk he got from having been able to release his lust into a willing participant, one whom he wouldn’t have had a chance with if it had simply been up to his charm. “Over there…” He commented in reference to her p*****t with a tone that made her feel both cheap and used. But that's the way her world worked. She would dress up and out out for a fee. A pretty fee that allowed her to continue to live her high class lifestyle. Just before she collected the money placed in a cliche white envelope, the young woman of untouchable beauty slid her feet back within her shoes and latched the small strap into its position before making her way towards the door. As she looked back to take one final look at her recently satisfied client, she found him already drawn into his phone and looking on the website her services were offered from. He was already looking for another woman. This didn’t seem to affect her in anyway other than seeing how truly addicted to s*x this young man was. With a quiet sigh, she turned and left the hotel room while growing desperate to return to her apartment to scrub the remnants of her latest client. The young woman made her way through the set of elevator doors colored gold until continuing through the lobby and out of the doors of the Plaza hotel. The atmosphere of this very hotel was one that she felt the most at home in as she recalled running around this very lobby in her more formative years. But as she walked passed the would-be customers of the hotel, she slid her glasses from over her evergreen eyes and focused on the busy streets ahead. As she made her way to the edge of the sidewalk to call upon a taxi, she saw a duo from the corner of her eye. They stood side-by-side and attempted to be inconspicuous but were anything but. One of the young boys stood at her height and the other was easily able to tower her by almost a foot. At this particular moment, she was rather lucky as she could spy on them without them noticing due to the dark tint of her sunglasses. While being in her line of work, she constantly found there to be danger as she would come across jilted lovers and spouses of her clients that came upon her information somehow. Due to this, she had a system when it came for detecting this potential form of peril. It began with a slight game of cat and mouse through the busy city streets and busy crosswalks and ended with a taser in the alleyway or darkened nook of a building. She couldn’t even manage to cross the street however, before gaining perspective as to why they had been following her. “That’s her!” The young man who stood shorter spoke as both him and his companion looked to something on their phone before looking back at her. She feared that maybe the law had finally caught up with her and somehow located her and became wise of her promiscuous occupation. However, upon further inspection from afar, she noted how neither of them seemed as if they could approach her-almost as if they had been scared or even intimidated by her. She took pleasure in this before managing to turn a corner before them and hiding in a small corner between a flower shop and an old apartment building with ivy hugging its exterior. “Dammit! We lost her!” The shorter of the two men spoke as he allowed his hand to drop to his side in defeat. At this moment, she emerged from the shadowed alleyway and looked to them with a hand firm on her hip. She seemed to command their attention as their gazes fell to her as she emerged. They looked to her as if she was an angel standing before them. Her licorice black hair sat effortlessly in light curls against her thin frame as she stood in clothing both sexy yet classy for a woman of her profession. When their eyes moved back to hers, they found an arrogant yet distant look to be staring back at them. “Are you looking for me?” The men looked to each other before looking back to her. It was obvious that the shorter of the two men had been the one more confident in talking to women as he had done the majority of the talking. The taller of the two men was rather nervous as this was given away by the slight tick he had of pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose-even if they were already placed firm. “Um...yes…” She didn’t speak, as she wanted to make them sweat as she was used to young men being nervous in her presence. Usually when two men would come find her, it would be them seeking out a final hurrah for their best friend and his bachelor party or a threesome. But this would be a situation that she would have never have been asked to do up until this point. “We would like to hire you…” Her lips curved from a fine line of contentment to one of being pleased as she knew this meant an increase on her already growing bank account. “I see…” Her eyes scanned both of them before the one more timid threw his hands up in surrender. “It’s not for us!” He said quickly. “It’s for our friend!” The young woman who bore angelic beauty seemed to then lose interest in their proposition. Hearing such words for a potential job was always a risk as it could be a trap in regards to her breaking the law or that of a jilted lover as aforementioned. “I think we should speak somewhere more appropriate…” She commented before looking across the street and noticing a restaurant of perfect design for such a conversation. The boys followed her as if they were lambs to their slaughter with looks of fear and the unknowing lingering across their chocolate gazes. The way the young woman held herself was impressive to every aspect from the way she seemed to demand the room to the way she would walk as if being upon the red carpet with the eyes of peers and photographers alike. When the trio made their way to the back of the establishment, she sat with her back to the crowd and in a way that was almost like an interview to the young men. “What is it that you would have me do?” She asked as they looked to each other anxiously before finally looking back at her. “Hire you….” The boy sitting across from her, the one who believed he was suave enough with women to get them with a single wink, but unaware his nervousness was visible for miles, said. “I gathered as much, but you said it wasn’t for you…” “No-” The taller of the two spoke as he finally managed to show a side of him that was anything but sheepish. “It is for our friend…” “Cameron…” The other one interjected. “Why is it that you would need my services?” She asked as she brought her tea cup to her lips and watched as the young man across from her seemed to take this as an opportunity to gaze at her from her crossed legs to her slightly exposed cleavage. “There is this girl who is a complete-” Before the more vocally courageous of the two spoke out, he was nudged by the one who held women at a higher standard. “She broke his heart without warning…” “And you want me to….?” “Date him.” She looked quizzically at the two boys before finally letting out a sigh. As she removed a fifty from her wallet and went to set it on the table, the shorter of the two stood up. He had made it difficult for her to pass without having to push him out of the way-and due to his build, this would have been challenging. “You are “Lia” right?” He asked while showing her her own profile on the website she was placed on by her employer for her companionship services. For a moment, she hesitated as if she couldn’t recognize her own photograph. But just when they thought she would continue to the exit, she let out a sigh before looking back to them. “My services don’t include high school drama-you two aren’t in high school are you?” She asked skeptical as they both looked to each other before shaking their heads in the motion of “no”. “Then you wouldn’t mind if I asked for proof?” She questioned as they then slid their forms of identification from their wallets to show her. She did this for two reasons-one to get their ages, as expected, but second to get their names. Luckily for them, their ages checked out and she then learned that the one standing nearly a foot taller than her had been named Perry Scheer, a native to New York and aged halfway to fifty. The other young man was identified as Logan Kressin, aged twenty three, and with the same arrogant yet inexperienced expression in his identification photo as well as the one he showed in this particular moment. It was the kind of look that made Lia think he believed he could gain the number or even the gratification in getting any woman he wanted between the sheets. “Please….” Perry appealed to her curiosity as he motioned for her to retake her seat across from them. She had done so only upon noticing that she had forced attention to grow on her and in fear of having one of the two men outing her for her occupation, she returned to her seat. “What is it that you want me to do exactly?” She asked while bringing her elbows onto the table and interlacing her fingers in a way that she could rest her chin upon her knuckles. “Go out with him. Be his girlfriend.” Her sudden nod and distant gaze made them cease their explanation of what was expected. “You want the girlfriend experience…” Perry and Logan both looked to her in confusion. She could tell by their deer in the headlights expressions that they were no more educated in that phrase as they were to the secret of immortal life. Due to this, she positioned herself to have perfect posture as she now set her hands, still interlaced, upon the table in front of her. “It is when a person of my occupation is the arm and eye candy to a client-or in your case, a client’s friend. You do everything a girlfriend would; take selfies, go on vacations, even call each other nauseating pet names.” “Please….” Perry begged with every ounce of courage he had as Lia’s beauty seemed to make him incredibly nervous-especially when he looked at her for long periods of time. “Cameron is such a good guy….he just picks girls who are...girls that aren’t good for him.” “I appreciate you seeking me out, but I don’t think-” “Please-this guy just needs someone who will be good for him…” “How do you know that I will be good for him?” She challenged Perry as he hesitated for a moment before finding the correct words he wanted to say. “Because we are paying you to be.” “I am not a charity-” “We would pay you!” Logan said loudly, gaining the gazes of a few unappreciative couples having heard the desperate tone of his plea. “It is more that what my usual fee is…” She spoke in a low voice, careful to not be overheard by anyone. “How much?” Perry asked, focusing upon Lia. “Two thousand a day. Anything physical-that’s extra.” Perry removed his solid black credit card and slid it over to her from across the table. “So you want me to make some ex of his jealous?” “We want you to help him forget about her-for him to see that there are good women out there-not all these...others….” “I see…” The silence that fell after these spoken words made both of them feel nervous, in fear that they were losing her interest. Due to this, Perry pulled out his cellphone and slid up a picture of Cameron. The photograph had been one of Cameron with his now ex girlfriend as she was cropped from the photo. However, he sported a nearly idiotic smile on his face that showed off a beautiful set of pearly white teeth and plump lips. He was everything a girl could ask for as he stood tall, had an impressive physique with muscles almost bulging from his shirt, crystal blue eyes, and just enough facial stubble to be flattering and not untamed. Lia couldn’t tell why but she had to fight a smirk forming from her lips as she saw his photograph. “He just needs a break...someone who will make him feel like he matters. Someone that will make him see that he is worth a good woman.” Perhaps it was the way his friends fought for him or maybe the promise of fourteen thousand dollars a week, but she felt as though this job would be one she could do with her eyes closed, and she she met with their gazes. “You will have to use the website to book me. Just make sure you choose girlfriend experience and the dates expected.” “So when do we have you two meet then?” Perry asked excitedly. “I need to learn more about him...what kind of girls he likes, what his interests are-something to get a leg up on his ex.” “What do you want to know?” And with that, the trio began to discuss the type of guy Cameron was. How he was kind and trusting to a fault with a deep interest in history and cocktails. He loved soccer and detested football, had one little sister whom he loved to the moon and back and dad who was always hard on him growing up. Lia then learned a bit about Jewel, Cameron’s ex-girlfriend. She loved horses, had grown up on a farm, walked around as if the world owed her something, and took more than she gave-in every sense of the word. As Lia considered this enough information, she then concluded the impromptu meeting before going to stand. “Where is a usual hangout for you all?” “Reynolds Tavern...just off the campus grounds.” Perry answered. “Have him there tonight.” With these words having been spoken, she set a fifty dollar bill upon the table and then left the establishment with the boys and a few unfaithful men having watched her exit. As she made her way outside to the fresh spring air hitting against her rosy cheeks, she felt an odd sense of excitement that she had never felt for another client. But she was unaware just how much Cameron would change her life.
