15. Little
1900 Words
Dipak and Marcus go to the village with me.
I play some games. I play a throwing game and win a pink bunny. I love it. I love my bear more, but I like this too. I hug it and carry it around. Then I find Marcus.
"You win a bunny baby?"
I give him a hug.
"Let's go find a bench to watch the parade." We sit way far out on the grass. I watch the horses.
Then he takes the bunny and makes kissing noises when he touches my face with it. It tickles my nose. It has whiskers. "Look there."
Tye is going by with his sister. I wave at them and they wave back. She seems happy. She is jumping around. I hug the bunny and watch them.
I wish me and my brother could have done something like that together. Maybe he would have liked that too, or maybe he would have been trying to throw me into the crowd, so I got ripped apart.
Marcus gets up and goes over to Dipak.
I lay down with the bunny and watch the clouds.
I hear people cheering and I open my eyes. I'm half laying on Dipak. "Have a good nap, sweetheart?"
"Didn't know I was tired. Where's Marcus?"
"He's with Tye."
The parade is coming again.
I sit up and hold my bunny. Dipak rubs my back. Tye comes close, and I don't even think he sees me. Then he stops.
He kneels down in front of me and hands me a flower. "How are you doing, babydoll?"
"I'm fine. Thank you for the flower."
"You're welcome. Did you win a bunny?"
"Yea, I like bear more."
"You want your bear?"
My eyes fill up with tears.
"I'll go get it babydoll."
Dipak laughs. "I'll get it faster. He's busy."
Tre walks over. "You're both busy. What the hell are you doing?"
Dipak stands up. "We need the bear."
Kane and Marcus come over. "They probably have it here. Win a new one."
Marcus winks. "Or something even better."
I shake my head. "There's nothing better."
Dracul walks over all pissed off. "Seriously people. Look around. This is suspicious as hell. Tye, get back on that carriage."
Dipak helps me up and puts his arm around me. "Let's go check out the games sweetheart."
The others go back to the carriage.
"Tye said you hurt your knee this morning?"
"I was chasing a butterfly and I fell."
He wraps me up in a big hug. "I'm sorry you ended up with the worst brother in the world. I know it still hurts. And I know you think about him when you see how happy Tye and his sister are. You wish you and your brother could have been more like that. You watch them make plans and then be happy seeing each other. I know you wanted that babygirl."
"Don't tell."
"He already knows."
I shake my head. "Please don't tell."
"Alright. You want to play some games?"
"Yes." I wipe a tear off my cheek.
2 hours later, I have 2 bears, 2 bunnies, and 1 stuffed owl. I also have 3 security guards buying me candy and everything I want.
Tre takes the bunnies and owl from me. "Are you about ready to go back baby?"
"I want fireworks."
Marcus takes the bears, so my hands are free.
Dipak smiles. "We can't do fireworks baby. I don't even know where we would set them off here."
I start crying.
"We can find a spot. Maybe we can have a final party tomorrow. We can do fireworks for that."
They take off to find a spot for fireworks.
I realize I'm alone. I wipe the tears off my face and get lost in the people playing games. I hear music and roam towards it. I find the girls and sit at the table with them. "Did you get to see the princess?"
"YES. She was so pretty done up in her fancy dress. She even matched Tye. They were so cute. He saved her from falling off the carriage once."
"He gave her a flower."
"I didn't see... but I heard they were making out in the theater. I guess his eyes were black."
"I seen it. He was under her veil. They were kissing a lot. Then the queen yelled at him. And yes, his eyes were black. Like, a lot of times."
"He for sure likes her."
Dipak runs up. "You can't run off. We were searching everywhere for you."
"I didn't run off. You did."
"What?"
"You ran away to find some place to do fireworks."
"Oh."
Tre and Marcus run up. "What the hell woman?"
"We were searching for a place to do fireworks. None of us stayed with her."
"So did you find a place for the fireworks?"
"Yea, we're going to set them off tomorrow at 10. Over in that direction. People will be able to see them from here or the park."
One of the girls jumps up. "WE GET FIREWORKS?"
"They are going to end the festival with fireworks. This is amazing."
"This is the best festival ever."
Tre nods. "Are you ready to go back, so we can get everything ordered for that?"
"Yes. Good night. It was nice seeing you again."
"You too."
Dipak hands me a bear back. I snuggle it. "I'm tired."
"I bet. You've been here about all day baby."
"She took a 3-hour nap on me."
"My feet hurt."
Marcus shakes is head. "You can walk."
I stop and start bawling.
Tre gives Marcus a dirty look. "It's ok baby. Come here." He picks me up and I wrap around him. I snuggle him and the bear.
"Tre always spoils her to death when she gets like this."
"I see this."
"You need extra hugs, right?"
I snuggle him more. "Will you take me home tonight?"
"Of course baby. You going to lay by the fire in your underwear?"
"Yes." I lay my head on his shoulder. I see him put his middle finger up at the other 2. They give him dirty looks.
"I'll put your blankets and pillows by the fire for you. We can put your new stuffies over there too. And we'll get bear." He pats my butt as he carries me in the castle. "Such a good girl."
Tye is still in his dad's office. "I wondered when you were coming back."
Dipak looks at him and the king. "We're doing fireworks tomorrow at 10. Someone wants fireworks."
Tre puts me down in a conference table seat. I snuggle my bear.
Tye smiles. I hug my knees. "She is really young."
"Yea, Tre's taking her home tonight. I'll send some dinner over."
"Why don't you eat with us and then go over babydoll? Will you do that?"
"Ok."
He stands in front of me with his hands out. "Come here."
I stand up on the chair and wrap around him. I hook my knees on his sides, so I don't fall.
"I love you babydoll."
"I love you too." I lay my head on his shoulder.
Dipak smirks. "Apparently we have 2 that spoil her."
Tye rolls his eyes. "She needs extra cuddles, and you were the one who tried to run away to get the bear."
"He ran away to find a spot for the fireworks too."
Tye pats my butt. "You spoil her as much as Tre does."
"Well, she's little right now. Let's go."
I sit on Tye's lap for dinner. I snuggle into him and he rubs my back.
"Baby, you need to eat. Don't go to sleep." Tre pulls me off Tye.
I cry.
"Baby, you have to eat. I can nearly see your ribs now."
I throw myself on the floor.
"If you want to go over to the house, you will get up and eat. You're not going if you don't eat."
I cry harder.
Dipak picks me up and puts me in the seat by him. "When you're done with your fit, you can eat."
"AAAAHHHHH!" I cross my arms.
"ENOUGH." Dipak rubs his eyes.
"We'll put chocolate sauce on everything."
Dipak and Tre shake their heads.
Marcus stands up and hits the table. "IF YOU DON'T KNOCK IT OFF RIGHT NOW AND EAT YOUR FOOD, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO THE FIREWORKS."
I give him a dirty look and eat my food.
I don't talk to any of them. I stare at my plate and eat it. I get most of it down, and I can't eat anymore.
"You still want to go home for the night?"
"NO. I AM SLEEPING ALONE."
"That's fine."
I go to slam my foot down, but it gets stuck on Dipak's leg. I somehow manage to kick him and throw myself out of the chair.
Dipak jumps and it scares me when he jumps. I cry and throw myself on Tye.
"What happened?"
"She kicked me and fell out of the chair. It wasn't on purpose."
"I'm a good girl."
"You're not being very good tonight."
Dipak holds his arms out. "Come here sweetheart. I know you're trying to be a good girl."
I sit on Dipak's lap. He snuggles me. Then Tre gives him the bunny.
"Guard."
"Yes sir."
"Cancel the morning meeting but tell the advisors to eat at..." He picks up the bunny and hands it back to me. "Before lunch. And have them..." I try to shove the bunny whiskers up his nose. He pushes it off his face and I giggle. "Have them be in my office..." He picks up the bunny again. "Eat at lunch and then be in the office by lunch." I snuggle him.
The guard blinks.
Tre nods. "Cancel the morning meeting. Tell the advisors to eat early and be in Dipak's office by 12:30. And let them know fireworks at the Yanin village will be at 10."
"Yes sir."
Dipak tickles me. "You can't let me give anyone else attention, can you?"
I laugh so hard, I drop the bunny again.
He puts it in my shirt. "There, you can't drop it if it's in there."
I pull it out and drop it.
"WOMAN." He picks it up and makes it kiss me.
"You going to stay with Dipak tonight? I need to go to sleep. I'm tired as hell."
"I can sleep by myself."
"Not tonight. You want to go to the house? You can sleep between me and Dipak."
Tye puts his fork down. "You can go to bed. I'll watch her."
Dipak sits up. "You can't watch her, you have all that s**t tomorrow. Whoever she sleeps with isn't going to get any sleep."
"You'll fall asleep in the parade and fall off the carriage."
"I'm going to bed then. If anyone needs a break, put her in bed with me for a few hours."
"That could work. We can take turns trying to keep her asleep."
"You want some of your sleepy tea?"
"NO. I f*****g swear. Give her to me, Dipak. All you do is try to drug her. I'll watch her." Tre picks me up and carries me to his apartment.
We cuddle and he rubs my back.
I wake up a bunch of times. Tre is always right there to tell me he loves me. I snuggle and cuddle him so much.
