Francesca had asked Jonas about where they were going because she had heard the others mention his family, and that was clearly why they had come here, but she knew that he had not spoken to them for many years and she did not get the impression there had been a tearful reunion while she was away.
She figured that there was a chance they would be turned away, or possibly even attacked, and she asked so she would be prepared for that.
