Chapter 6

1565 Words
Charles stood up from his bed after keeping Nancy's photo on the headboard, and he went into his bathroom to bathe. He then stepped out, wore his night robe, and walked out to his study to busy himself. Sleep was far from his eyes, and he knew he would be marrying soon, but he still needed to check his company records as he ran a multi-million dollar company in their state. Charles took his time and did his own personal cross-checking of his company records and growth on his computer. ----- Meanwhile, Charles mother, First Lady Kira Alejandro, had contacted her assistant, Miller Robert, on a phone call. "Hello, Miller." "Good evening, Your Excellency," Miller responded. "I want you to find out what this lady is up to for me. Note to keep track of her movements and send some security men to follow her around too." "Okay, Your Excellency," Miller responded. "Anything else you need me to do?" Miller asked. "No, that's all. And the job starts now," First Lady Kira replied. "Okay, Your Excellency, good night," Miller spoke. "Good night too," First Lady Kira replied, and her phone call with Miller ended. Kira knew she could always trust Miller to give her clean records, as he had never failed her. She sighed and walked out from her room on the second floor, heading downstairs to the ground floor to welcome her husband. Although she had had her dinner with Charles, she still wanted to be with her husband and spend some quality time with him before the night fell. ***** The next morning, Nancy woke up in her bedroom, feeling sour, as she had dreamt about the wedding, happily getting married to Charles. Nancy knew most of her dreams usually came true, but she frowned, thinking of how she would escape from marrying Charles and the benefits if she agreed to marry him. "No, I cannot become Charles's wife," Nancy said, immediately sliding out of her bed and walking to her bathroom to bathe. It was a bright Friday morning. Nancy brushed her teeth, took a quick bath, and stepped out, wearing a black long gown. "No, let me wear trousers and a top, so it will be easier for me to escape. But how do I do this?" Nancy frowned as she walked to her closet, saying, "Well, since the wedding is tomorrow, let me find out first if Mom and Dad have already purchased everything I will need for the wedding. They can't possibly have bought my wedding gown too." Nancy smirked and quickly searched her clothes for her travel documents, keeping them in a small red purse. Nancy wore only her pants and bra in her room, contemplating what to wear. She walked into her closet and took out a blue long-sleeve top and black trousers. The black trousers hugged her legs tightly, bringing out her sexy behind and shape. Nancy smiled and walked to her bed, picked up her red purse, and was set to leave the house, as she had finished dressing up. She knew she couldn't give her family the impression that she was escaping, so she combed her long, blonde hair and applied a little makeup on her face before setting out. Nancy smiled in satisfaction at her reflection one more time, then looked at her room clock and saw it was after 8 a.m. "2 hours to go," Nancy said, and she heard a knock on her room door. She walked up and pulled it open, meeting the gaze of a young maid in a blue uniform who greeted her, "Good morning, my lady." "Good morning, what do you want?" Nancy asked the pretty, brown-skinned maid, already leaving the house. "Breakfast is ready, ma'am, but I'm here to tidy up your room," the maid replied. "Okay. I'm already leaving the house now, so do it neatly and don't scatter any of my things in my room. Goodbye," Nancy said, walking out of her room. "Okay," the maid replied, as Nancy went downstairs to the living room. Nancy could see that her father had other guests around, but stealing a quick glance at their faces, she saw they were elderly men like her father's age-mates, probably his business associates. Nancy sighed and stepped downstairs into the living room, not wanting to be rude to them, even though she was still upset with her parents' decision to have her become Charles's wife. Nancy paused in the living room and greeted her father, "Good morning, Dad. Good morning, Sirs." "Good morning, Nancy. How was your night?" Senator Logan Marlon asked, smiling at his only daughter. Senator Logan was seated on the living room's black couch, previously discussing with his business partners before Nancy stepped downstairs. He could see the men's eyes smiling at Nancy and admiring her, as the wedding was the following day. "Fine, Father. Where's Mom? I want to have my breakfast first before I leave the house, as I want to go out for some shopping," Nancy replied, knowing she had just returned from City X the previous day, and some of her items in her room had finished. "That's alright, your mother is in the kitchen, Nancy," Senator Logan replied. "Okay, Dad," Nancy answered, glad her father didn't object to her leaving the house, as he was a busy man, occupied with his business partners, and everything to him was business. "You have a very beautiful daughter, Senator Logan Marlon. If President Nolan Alejandro's only son, Charles Alejandro, hasn't chosen her yet, I really would've loved to have her as my sixth wife. Is she still a virgin?" Nancy froze at the dining room, hearing one of the elderly men seated in the living room boldly ask her father. She paused and stared back at the four men, feeling irritated that the old man also had his old, brown eyes on her. Nancy met their gazes, but she heard her father respond, "No, Senator Leon Clayton. Nancy is too young to become your sixth wife, and even though Charles Alejandro hasn't chosen her yet, I still cannot give my only daughter to you." Nancy sighed in relief and stared coldly at the silly old man named Senator Leon Clayton. But she saw him lick his lips and offer, "How about I give you 30 billion cash transfer and all my properties in Atlanta for you to allow me to have your daughter?" Nancy's eyes widened in shock at Senator Leon's offer to marry her. She wondered how much Charles had paid her parents to have her, but she was interrupted by her mother, who stepped out of the kitchen, as they heard her father respond to the old man, "Don't you dare mention anything further, Senator Leon Clayton. That's enough. Nancy is not for trade, and even if you offer me 100 billion cash transfer, I still cannot give my only daughter to you, as you're older than me and more of a grandfather to her." "But I'm still good in bed," Senator Leon shamelessly announced, and Nancy and her mother gasped at the silly old man's shamelessness. But Senator Logan snapped, "Enough! Senator Leon Clayton, and back to our business conversation." "The business will be on hold, except you allow me to have your daughter instead of President Nolan Alejandro's only son. From my findings, Charles is a male prostitute, and I'm sure your daughter cannot stand such a childish, immature man as her husband. She needs a good man like myself to groom her well," Senator Leon spoke. "Hmm... leave my house, Senator Leon Clayton. I appreciate your cancellation of our business deal, but this meeting is over!" Senator Logan Marlon barked, and Nancy saw her father point to the living room exit door. The other men in black suits wanted to protest, but Senator Leon cut in, "Very well then." Senator Leon Clayton stood up from the black couch to exit the living room, his personal assistant following him, but his eyes still traveled to stare at Nancy, where she stood with her mother. Nancy felt irritated, but she was glad her father didn't accept the old man's proposal. She was also surprised that Charles hadn't given her parents anything yet for her to become a bribe. But she still didn't like Charles and still planned to move on with her escape plan. "You shouldn't have sent Senator Leon Clayton away, Senator Logan. We still need him to win the local parties," Nancy heard some of the men in black suits still seated on the living room couches say to her father. "I know, but this meeting has come to an end, and I made a terrible mistake by organizing it here. The meeting will be on hold until after the presidential wedding has come to an end. So, see you all next weekend, in the Senate house," Senator Logan spoke, standing up from the black couch. All the old men in black suits had no other option than to stand up and exit the mansion. Nancy sighed as she walked to the dining table with her mother. The maids stepped out of the kitchen and served their breakfasts around the dining table, including Nancy's. Nancy was conscious of the time as she watched her parents settle on the seats across from her in the dining table to have their breakfast.
