Webber glowered at the witness.
When the witness had finished, Judge Lex looked in my direction. “No objections, Lady Strange?”
“None, your Honor. Thank you for asking.”
“Any rebuttal, Lady Strange?”
“No, your Honor, the account was accurate.”
“Very well, Lady Strange, Lady Webber. This court will recess until ten forty five.” The judge pounded the gavel.
Outside, I found Doctor Schrader on the steps of the courthouse, several clones around him. “Thank you for being here, Doctor.”
“How does it look so far, Lady Allison?”
I shrugged. “I think things are going well. I'm getting as fair a hearing as I could expect. Based on what's been heard, though, I don't have much of a chance of getting a decision in my favor, but that may change once you testify. Just one problem.”
