Since Monday afternoon's close call, we have been spending most of our time in the safe house. We would go outside to the backyard to train daily. It was fenced in with a ten foot privacy fence. It might be a safe house, but it is more like a vacation home for when we just need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the pack house. Dad would bring us here when we were much younger and the alpha duties were weighing too heavy on him. I can remember spending several summers swimming in the creek and playing in the backyard on the swing set. Those were for sure the good old days. It was now Friday morning and I was getting up and heading down stairs for breakfast. I could already smell the sausage and bacon that Lily was making.
