9 Other than ordering, Laura didn’t say anything until she’d cleaned her plate and pushed it back. She caught Archie watching her and gave him a rueful, almost smile that caused an odd twinge around his heart. The feeling puzzled him. He’d been married twice, so nothing should be new, but this was. “This is why people bring food,” she said. Archie arched his brows. “After…” She trailed off and looked away. “Thank you.
