Laura had tried to warn him. Now he knew what the word meant.
Multiple Baker children were milling inside and outside of the house. He had known there were thirteen of them, but he hadn’t realized what that meant in actual human volume until he saw them together, some with significant others in tow. They didn’t need a neighborhood crowd to gather — even though one did — when they had each other. They even brought their own flashing red lights. Of course, not all the flashing red were from Bakers. He noticed a few non-Baker cops hanging around, including the one called George they had seen earlier. Archie couldn’t tell if George noticed him or not.
