Chapter Thirteen June, 1914 Leda squeezed Duncan’s hand harder as the large motorcar turned onto the driveway. In mere moments, she would be standing in front of Ian and his wife, something she’d vowed she couldn’t have faced. She hadn’t seen Ian since early March, when Duncan had brought her down to Oxford for a visit. Even with Duncan beside her, his strong, loving presence bolstering her courage, the urge to turn and flee was nearly overwhelming. “I’m here, Leda.” Duncan squeezed her hand as the car drew closer and pulled to a stop at the foot of the large stone steps.
