Chapter 5Tom came in with Caden and a serious older man wearing a suit, an overcoat and horned rim glasses. Tom introduced him. “Gary, Danny, this is Harold Stevens, an agent for the Office of the Inspector General or the OIG. They investigate Social Security fraud. Harold, this is Gary Sayer and his husband, Danny, and this is Robert Dennis Bailey, the young man I told you about. Mr. Stevens wants to interview Robbie about his aunt and uncle. Caden came with me so Robbie would feel more comfortable.” Mr. Stevens shook everyone’s hand and Mrs. Abernathy took Tom and Mr. Stevens’ coats.
“Mr. Bailey, I need to tape your deposition. May I have your permission to turn on the tape recorder?”
“Yes, you may.”
