Jia didn’t know what to think as Tala led them down the wide, sterile gray corridors of the research station. Dr. Lindstrom was an arrogant ass, but that wasn’t the same thing as working for the Core despite their tendency to employ arrogant assholes. The same grandiose braggadocio was present as in a typical Elite or half-Leem agent, but it was hard to separate a man who believed in his life’s work from a Core agent aching to brag to random government agents about their successes.
