“We’ve got this in the bag, brother,” Kant shouted as they jogged from the second checkpoint through a winding course of tunnels and open-air paths closed on both sides. “Anne’s probably getting frustrated. If this was a mission, she’d be able to focus, but it’s a game, so she’ll let her perfection get to her. We can take advantage of that.”
Erik shook his head. “Jia’s not like that. She always focuses. You’ve seen it. She can also get people around her to focus. That’s probably why Emma paired them up.”
“No problem. We’ll just win this round, and then it’ll be our match. Nothing wrong if we tie. It’ll still eat Anne up.”
