Chapter Twenty-Seven The airlock door began to slide up. Jia whipped out her gun, ready to shoot emerging monsters, cyborgs, or assassins. An empty chamber with a sealed inner door greeted her. She’d never been so happy to see an extra airlock in her life. “It looks like we got our miracle.” Jia crept into the airlock, looking for signs of a trap. “Or we’re just lucky. I’m not going to complain either way.” Erik walked into the airlock. “That means Anne and Kant must have partial control of the systems.” Tala hesitated for a moment, sticking the toe of her boot in and waiting. When no explosion came, she entered. The door dropped behind her, and a holographic warning appeared in front of the interior door, three red orbs above it. Warning: Oxygen field failure!
