Chapter Three

Raina's POV Tearl was kind enough to watch me lose my mind and listen to me as I cried my tears out about my week, and the madness that unfolded. “I may not fully understand your situation, Divine—I mean… Raina. But I am heading to the Capital, maybe an Omen can help you find your way back,” she said calmly. “Omen?” “They are seers, bridges between the gods and goddesses, and us.” I stared up at Tearl, seeing her confidence for these people. Trix said she was a goddess, and if these Omens were a bridge between them and gods/goddesses, then this would be my chance to figure out what was going on and hopefully get out from this nightmare. “Miss Raina, trust me. The Omens are wise beings.” Should I? “Okay, let’s go to the Capital!” I jumped onto my feet, with a wide smile on my face. Then took a step forward down the path to the Capital. “Huh, Miss Raina! You’re going in the wrong direction.” Swiftly turned on my heels and head the other way, “I knew that…” I muttered, feeling embarrassed. Tearl chuckled under palm, walking beside me, “Miss Tearl, can we first make a stop at Opa Village. I must collect some materials for studies in the Capital.” “Of course,… What are you studying?” Tearl glanced at me and chuckled lightly. “What?” I asked. “My clothing should be clear about what I am?” I glanced up and down at her, seeing nothing wrong with her clothing. I shook my head ‘no’, “well… You are not from here. So… I’m a training Priestess, pale blue vest and black harem trousers. Colours worn by training Priest and Priestess.” “Oh… That’s cool. Is it?” She nodded her head ‘yes’. Looking at the way of dressing, it seemed vintage. I do not know why I think that. Maybe I was overthinking this, I glanced over my shoulders and groaned, “how come, I haven’t seen a single vehicle passing by?” “V-vehicle? What is that, Miss Raina?” I gasped in shock, “you know… machine that we ride on to take us from point A to point B. You know… A Car?” “Do you mean a carriage?” I stopped in my tracks, staring at how Tearl was trying to figure what a car was. Everyone should know these things, “Car sounds like bush…” She murmured to herself, then she glanced at me, “what is a ma-chine?” Furrowing my brows in confusion, shaking my head, “quick question, Tearl… Were you isolated your entire life?” “Isolated?” She shook her head, “no, I think I was.” Did you really have to think about it? I asked in my head, “then how is it you don’t know what I’m talking about?” I asked her. She shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know, maybe we’re from different worlds.” I lifted an eyebrow, I never really thought of it like that. Tearl says the weird stuff, and to her, I also say weird stuff, but how was it I could understand her, and she could understand some of what I am saying. “Miss Raina, I mean not have the answers, but the Omens may have.” Nodding my head, while questions filled my head. Was I teleported to another world? If so, why and how? One thing was clear, Trix was the centre of it all and if these Omens are as good as Tearl said, then they were the key for me to finding Trix. Lifting my gaze to Tearl, “let’s keep moving, my answers are in the Capital.” I said, taking one long step and continued heading down the path. “Yes, Miss Raina,” she followed close beside me. “Tearl…” “Yes?” “It’s just Raina… You don’t have to be too formal with me.” Okay, Mis—Raina.” “Thanks…” On our way to Opa Village, I got to know more about Tearl. She came from a small village found up North from the Golden Forest (where she found me) and was the eldest of six. Twenty-one years old, she wants to be a Priestess for the Sister Moons; it confused me at first until she pointed out the sky and it surprised me to see two moons. One looked the same moon from Earth and the other one, it was hard to make out, but it was there. Tearl said one was white and the other blue. Na and Lu, the names of the sister goddesses that dance around each other, and how they trust and lean on each for support—their story touched Tearl since she was also a sister, leading to her wanting to be a Priestess of Sister Moons. Their story would also touch me. Looking up in the sky, it was clear this was not Earth. Two moons in the sky, and that was amazing. After two hours of walking, I was glad that I was not wearing my office attire, or else my feet would kill me by the time reached Opa Village. Seeing the village, it placed a full seal of ‘indeed I am in another world’. As each housing was small, either built with wood or stones and reed roofing or tiles were on a few houses. There were also weird looking animals, they looked beautiful like out of a fantasy novel but also dangerous if looked the wrong way. There was a head of buffalos that had woolly jet-black fur, but in certain lighting, vibrant green and blue would reflect, and their horns were cream white, thick with a tree brunches sequence and each point was sharp. “Raina? Are you coming?” Tearl asked, snapping me out from my train of thought. I glanced at her then the village, it looked busy like a town with dangerous looking animals amongst them. Giving her one big smile, “how about you go without me, I want to take in the forest's beauty.” I said, glancing over at the forest, which just looked like a normal forest. “Are you sure?” “Are sure,” nodding my head. “You go ahead, I’ll be waiting here…” Seeing her hesitant to leave me alone, I smiled warmly and wave her off. “Go! I’ll be fine.” I said. “Okay… I’ll be quick. And please don’t cause trouble,” she took few hesitant steps back. “What makes you think I’ll cause trouble?” I gaped. “Huh… I just have a feeling,” she shrugged. Folding my arms across my chest and rolled my eyes, “I promise I won’t do anything. I’ll keep to myself, okay.” “Okay,” still hesitant, but she turned and run down to the village. I watched her as she disappeared into the village once I was certain she was far from worrying about me—I turned my direction to the forest. While waiting for Tearl, maybe I could test out these powers, Trix gave. Maybe I am be able to go back to the Earth, feeling a smirk pull from the corner of lips. It would be cool being able to go through one world to another. Walking into the forest, I heard soft humming echoing through the forest. Were there people in the forest? I wondered, taking a step forward to find the people who were singing, but stopped in my tracks. “I promised Tearl, I would keep to myself…” I muttered to myself. Glancing over to the direction of the village, maybe I can peek from a distance. Continuing my journey deep into the forest, following the humming. I was getting close, as the humming got louder and louder, however, I did not see anyone. Glancing around, still seeing no one, this was just madness, throwing my head back and groaned in annoyance—I wasted my time. Hearing rustling from above, I slowly opened my eyes and brownish-golden yellow eyes stared down at me. “What?” I shifted myself to get a better look at the creature in the tree. It was a monkey with long white fur and a rosy red lump in neck. It looked away from me and suddenly, I’m hearing humming coming from it. “So, you are the one responsible…” I said to it, but it just ignored me. Rolling my eyes, “rude…” I muttered, deciding to head back to the village. But from which direction was the village? I glanced around, realising I had gotten myself lost. I’m an i***t… Steadily stepping over the roots of a tree, trying to remember the direction I came from, my foot slipped on the root. I tripped forward before I feel the ground; I felt warmth around arms. Snapping my eyes open and glanced up, looking up into crimson red eyes—staring back down at me. Staring at his face, he had a strong jaw line with long jet-black hair flowing over his shoulder. “Sir!” I snapped out from my train of thought by the person behind my saviour. “Huh… Thanks… Sorry!” I uttered as I stumbled back onto my feet, as this happened, something fell from his waistband. "Oh, sorry about that,” I said, as I quickly picked it up. “NO!” “STOP!” I heard him and the person behind him yell, staring at them confused, “did I do something wrong?” I asked, keeping my palm open that held the piece of jewellery that fell from his waistband. They both stared at my hand in horror, as the company behind them gaped in shock. I feel like I was not supposed to touch this…
