By the time the match finishes it proves to have not been terrible. I hate to admit that I actually enjoyed it. I don’t bother waiting for the crowd to move, I jump back down into the player tunnel and wait for Richy.
The players begin bounding off the ice and my brother spots me before grinning wide. He pulls me into a hug but instantly pushes me back and holds my shoulders. His brows furrow as he looks me over, “how did you get my jacket?” He seems to realise it couldn’t be his and spins me to look at my back. “What the f**k?!”
I whip back around and smack his arm, “stop manhandling me you baboon.”
A couple of the guys laugh as they watch this play out but Richy turns to them with a glare. He looks around them before spotting Stone and pointing at him.
“Why the f**k is my sister wearing your jacket?”
Stone goes to open his mouth to reply but I cut him off by clicking my fingers at Richy.
“Excuse me, I am here and can speak for my self. You stole the keys and I came looking for you. Luckily Stone borrowed me his jacket so I didn’t freeze to death waiting for you. I believe the words you are looking for are thank you.” I snap the words and rest my hand on my hip.
Richy narrows his eyes at me and opens his mouth to argue but my glare lets him know I am serious. He growls before turning and throwing a thanks over his shoulder to Stone. “Now get that s**t off and stay away from him.” He points at Stone. “In fact, stay away from all hockey life forms.”
I smirk at my brother, “you wanted me to come watch your games. If I knew it would bother you this much, I would do it more often.”
My brother practically snarled at me but Alexander Letchan stepped forward and patted my brother’s shoulder. “You should join us for pizza baby J, we’re celebrating the win.”
“Sure,” I laughed despite myself. The fact my brother was about to pop a vein was too amusing to pass up. Some of the guys started to move past us, my brother groaned and was dragged away by Alexander.
Stone stops before me with a smile and I go to shrug the jacket off. His hand lands on my shoulder, “keep it on, it’s freezing.” He starts walking and I drop into step beside him.
“Do you have a name or should I just call you Stone?” I question and his smile widens.
“Ajax, Ajax Stone.” He offers me his hand. “What about you baby J?”
I laugh and shake his hand, “Hazel.” His dark blue eyes sparkle.
“It’s nice to meet you Hazel,” he flashes me one last grin before heading into the changing room.

My brother insists he rides in my truck with me to the pizza place.
Alexander drove my brother’s fancy car instead.
The guys all bustle inside and I manage to not get squished.
Alexander gestures for me join his booth so I do. I expect my brother is slide in my other side but when I turn to look it is Stone. My brother slides into the opposite side with a sour expression.
“You guys are doing this on purpose now,” he huffs and glares at Stone.
“What can we get you guys?” The waitress asks and my brother’s attention is suddenly pulled elsewhere. In fact, all the hockey players are now ogling the waitress. We’ll all except one, Stone. Ajax Stone is staring at me.
“I will have a cherry coke, chicken pizza with extra cheese and twister fries please.” I order and smile sweetly.
Stone seems pleasantly surprised before he turns and orders an identical meal.
The waitress takes everyone else’s order before heading away.
“Okay,” Alexander says and everyone looks to him. “Birdie.”
I groan as the hockey players all become excited.
“What does that mean?” Stone whispers to me and I cannot help but smile. He is still so new to all this then.
I turn and lean over to whisper back. “They will say three things. Two are true and one is a lie. You have to say birdie to the one you think is a lie.”
A hand slams on the table, “hey. Less of that. I am going to seperate you too.”
I scoff at my brother and flick his hand. “Try it and see what happens.”
“Okay. Baby J, you can go first.” Alexander says and drops an arm over my shoulders.
“Fine,” I try to think of good ones. Maybe one to wind Richy up. “1. I once kissed Alexander here at a party.” Alexander stiffens beside me. “2. I am a phenomenal cheerleader.” I smirk as I voice the last one. I point to number eighteen. “Leyton f****d me six months ago.”
The entire team gape at me before gaping at Leyton. The waitress places mine and Stones order down.
“I take it you aren’t a good cheerleader?” Stone asks with amusement.
I sip from my cherry coke smugly. “Nope, awful.”
“Are you f*****g kidding?” Richy finally explodes. He points to Leyton, “we will be having a chat later.” But his head snaps back to Alexander. “You’re my best friend, how could you do that?”
Alexander nudges me, “I didn’t kiss her back bro. I swear. Baby J will tell you.”
