Once we said our goodbyes, we went to see Peter’s mate, Ciara, at her house and spoke with her for about an hour, also telling her how sorry we were for her loss.
“I have to say that I’m impressed with how you took charge and spoke with Madeline and Ciara”, Lidia said. I looked at her and I saw pride in her eyes. The only person to ever look at me like that is Malik.
“Thank you, but I spoke from the heart. Something inside me just… felt like I needed to say those words”, I admitted, and she smiled.
