Chapter No.1
Alexander Remington: -
"Good day, Principal. Did you make a call to me? I questioned as I walked sourly into the principal's office, but I abruptly stopped when I saw my father sitting there with the principal, who was upset with me. I sucked and pretended to grin.
"Hello, dad. What on earth are you doing here? What a pleasant surprise?" Dad only sent me an icy gaze in response and threw a piece of paper in my direction as I nervously smiled and inquired.
"You brat, you failed two subjects once more." Dad yells at me without caring that the principal is present. With shaking palms, I glanced over my semester grade before turning to face dad. "Son, what haven't I given you in life? You have received all you have ever asked for from me, and all I have asked in return is one thing. I was hoping you'd get high grades so you could eventually take over my business. But it appears that I have spoiled you a lot. But not anymore. I have made a callous decision and have already talked to your principal about it."
"What are you referring to, Dad?" I questioned in a concerted manner, since I had a feeling the odds were against me. "Over here, you have two choices. By studying with the tutor I've appointed, you can either raise your grades and graduate this year, or you may bid your wealth a final farewell because if you don't, I'll cut you off and stop considering you to be my son. And don't even think about challenging my position on this. The choice I make is definitive." Dad declares firmly as he leans back against the couch and
holds a cigar in his palm.
"No! That cannot be done to me. I am your son. This type of threat is unacceptable." In a fit of rage, I yell and hurl the paper on the ground.
"Well, I just did," Dad yells. "I've already stated that I don't want to argue. Here, you have no option but to accept my judgment." He then turned to face the principal and nodded.
"Call the girl who is going to tutor him after class," dad orders.
After a few minutes, the door of the principal's office opens, and a very familiar curvaceous figure with long blonde hair and green eyes concealed behind the dorky glasses enters. The girl who drives me crazy with her sharp mouth and who I despise so much.
She and I both gasped.
"You?!" with our mouths gaping in disbelief.
"This has to be an absolute farce. You smug jerk, you can't be the student I have to tutor." Eleanor growled before turning to face the principal. "I apologize, principal, but you did not inform me that I would be his tutor. I am unable to carry out such an action."
"And why is that?" the principal asks her.
She answered, raising her hands in the air, "Because I loathe him."
"Oh, trust me, we both feel that way." I yelled and turned to face my father. "Dad, this is absolute torment. My tutor cannot be her. I f*****g can't bear her for a second."
"Good, which is why I picked her," he replies with a laugh while getting up while Eleanor and I exchange death glares. If glares could kill, we both would have castrated one another six feet under the ground by now.
"I despise you. " She said while wearing a stern face.
"Good news, the sentiment is shared." My father and the principal gave us serious faces as they regarded us as I mouthed back. I don't know what I did, but live my life; forgive me, I'm not even living it here. I'm living my life and following the direction my father has urged me to go in.
Since he controls the keys to my freedom and comfort, I am like his own puppet that he can manipulate in any way. The only thing my father has given me is comfort. Although I yearned for my parents' affection, they never gave it to me, instead they continued to expand their economic empire.
Instead of loving me, they give me money; as a result, I have developed a bad boy and spoilt brat demeanor. I cannot be held responsible for my own survival here. My parents are who I am today because of them.
"Okay, Alexander. Do we have an agreement? "My father sternly questioned.
"Dad, could we possibly talk about this? You understand that I don't want to select this as my care...”, but he interrupts me before I can finish.
"Over here, the choice is not up to you. I do." He says in a loud voice that reverberated throughout the room, making me recoil as Eleanor giggled, "If you want to make the decisions over here, then start working and get to where I am today; I'm sure that f*****g paintings won't make you that."
Eleanor giggles. She is bound to take pleasure in my suffering since I hate her more than anyone in this college because she annoys me constantly.
"Now, my dear student, it is not the way to talk to your tutor like that." Eleanor made fun. " Don't worry, I won't let anybody know that Alexander, a well-known and popular student who appears to be a bad boy and brave in front of the entire campus, is actually so afraid of his father that he nearly wet his pants."
“Stop talking, you bit..." My father cut me off once again. Eleanor was also planning to speak, resulting in us both speaking simultaneously.
"Just shut up, you two. I can't afford to waste my valuable time watching you two quarrel like toddlers.” Dad’s voice boomed as he breathed heavily to control his anger.
“Miss. Osborne, right?” my dad asked, referring to Eleanor in a professional cold tone.
"First of all, whatever takes place in this main office should remain private. I don't really anticipate there being any rumors about this elsewhere because I know you won't like the outcome.
I will pay the costs for the current semester. As long as you instruct my son and assist him in graduating this year with respectable grades,
Second, I want a thorough weekly report on my son's development and I want to see him become better. Do whatever it takes to get him to study, and if he pushes you around, get in touch with me immediately. Do you comprehend?” Eleanor was questioned by my dad, who gave her a hard look.
While I attempted to scream in frustration, she simply rolled her eyes and shook her head in agreement. However, I opted to maintain my composure for the time being. I just need to seem normal around my father because when he is gone, I have no intention of learning anything from this fat-assed, ugly cow.
"You certainly have an attitude towards a poor person. Have you not? "I advise you switch them around to wealthy people like us because you poor people are absolutely beneath us," the father said.
"And yet, the intelligent student over here who will be teaching your pampered brat kid is this poor person." My dad gave her a lethal look as she spoke. He decided to ignore her, then looked at me.
"I'm leaving right now. It's your fault that I am running behind schedule for my appointment. I wouldn't need to travel here and risk losing a million-dollar transaction if you showed some interest in your education and profession. I want you to act properly and pay attention to her, or else you know what I'm going to do," the father said. Dad nodded at the Principal and warned me once more before leaving.
"Mr. Remington and Miss Osborne." After my father had departed, the principal turned to Eleanor and me and said, "Mr. Richard Remington requested that the tutoring session begin from today so that you two may decide and chat with one another to establish the timetable."
I groaned and rolled my eyes while keeping my hands in my pockets. I then moved towards the couch and sat down on it with my knee propped up on the table in front of me.
"Don't you even possess a shred of manners? If you are forgetting, may I remind you that this is the Principal's office, not your residence", Eleanor said in an abhorrent tone.
"Why do you have an issue with it while the Principal over here doesn't? In addition, the principal over here knows better than to say anything to me or he won't be having his pocket warmed with money by my father", I questioned with an arched brow.
She murmurs, rolling her green eyes behind her clunky spectacles, "Whatever." "I want you to come study with me after class so that we can sit down and create a weekly routine together. If you don't mind, Your Highness."
“Whatever you say, you ugly cow." I gave her the nickname that my pals in our group had given her. I smirked and walked out of the main office with a bad boy attitude.
If she thinks that I am going to be listening to her and taking classes from her then she is in for a big surprise. Either she is going to play by my rules or else I am going to make her life a living hell in the college. I was about to step out of the campus when I heard the familiar voice making me frozen at my place and make my eyes roll in annoyance.
“Alexander, wait!” I heard from behind me.
