Ellen and Fenna were frightened to hear Declan as they did not expect Declan to be so impudent. They were here to beg the foreman for his help, so how could they expect Mr. Nie to help them if Declan was so rude to him?
Yaphet's face turned gloomy then. He was a foreman, after all, so since when did he ever have to suffer such treatment from a nobody? So, he said coldly, "Ridiculous! Who do you think you are? How can you talk to me like this?"
"Fenna, is this your friend? I'm so disappointed in you. How can you befriend with such a person?"
After that, Yaphet reprimanded Fenna.
Fenna was furious at Declan too. Even if Declan wanted to save her some dignity, this was not the way to go.
