Harvey's phone rings endlessly. I tap my foot impatiently on the floor and wait for him to pick up. It leads me to his voicemail the first time and I dial him a second time. Not knowing what to do, I decide to leave a voice message.
“Harvey.” I start to say, trying my best not to sound as pathetic as I am. “It's me, Anye. I know you know that but Harvey, why? Why did you break us up? We were the ideal couple and… “ I trail off, already choking on my breath, trying to hold back my tears.
Okay, this might actually not work out. Maybe I should just let Harvey be. If he really has an explanation for all of these, maybe he'll come through. Without wasting any time, I delete the voice message and fling my phone on to my bed.
I don't know how long it is that I lie on my bed, staring blankly at the ceiling but that's how I fell asleep.

My alarm clock goes off at exactly six-thirty in the morning. My eyes shoot wide open on the first sound. I hurriedly sit up in bed and instantly regret it when my heart starts to beat on my head. Groaning lazy, I put a hand up to massage my forehead in an attempt to ease the pain.
Lazily getting up to my feet, I cringe at the fact that I slept with my b*a still on. Something I'd never do.
Another great achievement to add to your list Harvey.
I hurry up to my closet and grab a random hoodie, a pair of black tights and a black converse. I lay them gently on my bed and wrap myself in a towel before heading to the bathroom to hit the showers.

“I'm afraid to go to school Drey.” I tell my brother as we walk towards the car we both share, even though he only ever drives it since I can't drive. Harvey never allowed me to take driving lessons, he was my driver, my lover. Drey wraps an arm around my shoulders and gives me a warm, pity filled smile.
“I'll stick by you, okay?”
“That's easy for you to say.” I sigh. “Your girlfriend didn't break your heart. Over the phone Drey.” Drey's girlfriend is a sixteen year old Melanie Williams.
She's a junior and they've been dating since she was in her freshman year . They've had a lot of breaks and their relationship is nothing compared to Harvey's and I. But at least, they still are sensible.
“Anye when will you stop brooding over this guy? He doesn't care for you as much as…” Drey starts to say but gets cut off by my ringing phone that causes both of us to jump a little.
I really have to change my ringtone. “Sorry." I mumble and frown at the screen. “It's an unknown number.” I tell Drey who shrugs and leaves me to go and start the car.
“Hello?” I call into the phone.
“Hi, so I don't think I can make it back to the hotel anytime soon.” The unknown voice says. “I just wanted to let you know, if that's okay?”
“Who is this?” I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. Maybe he dialled a wrong number.
The voice sighs into my ear, "clearly someone doesn't save phone numbers.”
“David?” My eyes go wide in realization. I'd totally forgotten to save his phone number. “Oh hi I'm sorry. Good morning.”
-“So you're okay with that?”
“With what?” I frown. “Oh right… No! I'm not. I need to have my purse back with me as soon as possible.”
-“Well what am I supposed to do?”
“Maybe come by my house?” I don't know why I'm suggesting this, I barely know who this guy is.
“That's the same thing as going to the hotel.” He groans.
“Okay text me a convenient address, I'll come after school today.” I sigh. He doesn't say anything and leaves me with the dial tone, again. Well, I'll assume that's an habit. Sighing, I save his contact number as ‘Dial tone’.
Drey's impatient honks ring in my ears and I widen my eyes. I hurry up to the car and quickly apologize to him.

I clutch my school bag to my chest as I step my foot on school grounds. Usually, a person wouldn't care about the students if they broke up, but that's when only 0.1 percentage of the school knows about you.
I don't know what to say if I bump into Harvey. What will he say to me?
Immediately I walk into the hallway, mumbling fills my ears. Not ending there, a lot of fingers fly in my direction. I suddenly feel like somebody died, and not my relationship.
Drey had told me to head in while he parked the car, and now I'm starting to wish I'd waited for him, his presence is way comforting than right now.
My eyes go glassy with tears and I quickly suck my breath in. My eyes are still very swollen, even more swollen than yesterday because of my sleepy eyebags. I really don't want to cry in front of everyone.
“What happened to your eyes?”
-”Aww look at the poor thing, what has Harvey done to her?”
-“Are they really over?”
-”This is unbelievable!”
All the whispers in the hallway start to make me feel dizzy. As if trying to make me break down on purpose, someone starts to play the ‘I need your love, I need your touch’ song making my heart go heavy.
“Anye did you Harvey really break up?!” One of the freshers yell in front of me. Her friends quickly pull her out of my presence but she still keeps shouting. “I'm breaking up with Jake now! I'm not letting him leave me devastated after four years… you hear that Jake? It's over!”
-“Hey, What did I do wrong?!” I heard an innocent Jake call after her.
Unable to bear all of the stares, pointing and mumbling, my legs carry themselves out of there on full speed before I can take control of them.
The mumbling goes even louder and I find myself getting caught up in the dizziness from the endless talking. Everywhere suddenly darkens and I feel my legs leave the floor. Before I can reach my fall, a hand snakes around my waist, helping me maintain balance.
