CHAPTER 20

Ex-Alpha Lucas Hudson looked at Teddy in disbelief, regarding him as a commoner as well.

"I understand, Teddy, but Jack is your brother and family. We can resolve this matter amicably as a family. Please order Jack to be released, and where is Charlotte? Why is Anne here with you?" Alpha Lucas demanded, while Anne frowned, knowing that Alpha Lucas and his wife didn't like her.

"Anne is my assistant, Father, and I sent for her as we have matters to discuss," Teddy said.

"Then she can wait for you in your office. Why bring her in here and have breakfast with her? Anyway, I'm not here for that. Hurry up and meet me in your office," Alpha Lucas barked at Teddy as he swiftly left the mansion and walked out to Teddy's home office to wait for him.

Teddy's fists clenched as he didn't like how his father had spoken to him. His father didn't really regard him as the Alpha and spoke to him anyhow, but Teddy was determined to show them why he was on the King's throne and that no one would dictate to him how to rule and control the pack.

Finishing his tea, he dropped the cup, stood to leave, and Anne asked him, "Should I join you in your office, Alpha?"

Teddy paused and gazed back at Anne. With love in his eyes, he replied, "No, you can go home for now, until matters calm down so they won't use it against us."

Teddy leaned forward and kissed Anne on her cheek. "I will see you later," he said and immediately left the house, walking out to his home office that was built separately from his mansion.

Standing in front of the office were Caleb and Ex-Alpha Lucas.

Teddy arrived and entered his office to discuss the matter at hand with his father and Caleb, who entered immediately to see him.

"Alpha, you sent for me," Caleb spoke, just before Alpha Lucas could speak.

"Yes, report to the magistrate to have Charlotte and Jack prosecuted for committing a******y. They will be severely punished in front of the pack members, while Jack should be killed or sentenced to life in jail," Teddy said, not caring if the two culprits involved were his wife and his brother.

Caleb stiffened in shock, remembering that Charlotte had phoned him the previous night, and just before he could recover from the shock that Teddy wanted to have Jack, who just arrived, and Charlotte punished.

"When did they mate? Are you certain about this, Alpha?" Caleb asked in disbelief, but Teddy yelled at him, "Don't ask me nonsense, Caleb, and get to work."

"Teddy, you cannot have Charlotte locked up or prosecuted. It would weaken our pack and cause a division. What has come over you, Teddy?" Alpha Lucas demanded, looking at Teddy in disbelief, similar to how Caleb was also looking at Teddy and waiting for his final order.

"Get to work, Caleb, and Father, you should desist from addressing me by my name! I'm your Alpha King now, and you should address me with respect when speaking to me. I might have been ignorant before and overlooked how you addressed me by my name, but now, I am in charge. You shouldn't cross the limit to avoid being punished. Leave my office."

"Teddy! You cannot do this to Charlotte or Jack! Do you want our pack to be divided or come under attack by other packs sending rogues to attack us? They would believe once the Alpha bond with his Luna is broken, then he would become weak and easily killed."

"Hahaha!" Teddy laughed out loudly like a maniac. "I can never be weakened by Charlotte. Agreed that she's my Luna, but she's not my true mate. Do not forget that you insisted I must marry her if I wanted to take over this pack from Jack. How fortunate that Charlotte was Jack's real mate, but she was given to me in respect to the throne. A weak she-wolf, she wasn't supposed to be the Luna in the first place."

Alpha Lucas looked at Teddy in disbelief. Of course, he remembered when he gave Charlotte to Teddy to become his Luna, as Charlotte had good Luna qualities and cared for their pack members in the little way she could.

"Don't splutter nonsense, Teddy. Charlotte was the perfect Luna for you. You shouldn't do this and should reconsider. Even if you do not want Charlotte as your mate, you can allow her to go and be with Jack and have them become recognized mates and a couple in our pack."

"Never, Father! Now leave. I don't want to see you or anyone here again. Charlotte will be punished by next weekend when the court decides to have her punished. I won't give her to Jack if that's what you're requesting of me. You have failed, as Charlotte will remain mated to me, whether I mate with her or not. It's none of anyone's concern. Also, she will be cleansed, and her mating bond with Jack will be disconnected. That I can handle, so leave."

Alpha Lucas looked at Teddy and shook his head. "Are you saying that you would be glad to watch Jack get killed? Where did I go wrong in giving you the throne? Did you think I cannot have you stripped of it? Mind you, I was the one who gave you the kingship, and Jack is the rightful owner of the throne by birth. Since Jack isn't the one who consented to hand the ruling power to you, then he can take it back as you don't have any Alpha qualities in you either."

"Get out of my office now, Father! Before I lose my temper with you!" Teddy warned, and Alpha Lucas stared at his second son angrily before he turned and exited the office, going out and thinking of how to resolve the matter. Without Teddy's approval, the magistrate wouldn't listen to Alpha Lucas as they now recognized Teddy as their leader and did what Teddy wanted.

"Hahaha!" Teddy laughed out once more in his office. He had always known that his father's favorite was Jack. His father loved Jack more and wanted Jack to rule. "If he had any inkling that Jack would return one day, he might not have handed over the pack's affairs to me. How intriguing to watch his favorite son get killed."

As Alpha Lucas stepped out of the office to leave Teddy's mansion, anger surged through him, and he regretted giving the throne to Teddy. But he couldn't take it back, as he had already signed off his kingship position to Teddy on the day he got Charlotte betrothed to Teddy. They spoke in verbal tones and also signed a written agreement too, and an Alpha doesn't go back on his words.

Alpha Lucas neared his car, and just then, his beta arrived. "Alpha, what's going on? Alpha Teddy sent guards to arrest my daughter this morning."

Beta Paul Mateo said as he quickly got out of his car and rushed up to meet Alpha Lucas standing beside his own car and wanting to leave Teddy's mansion.

"I heard that too, Paul. But the matter at hand now is beyond my control. According to Jack, he truly claimed that Charlotte is his mate, and the problem now is that they mated instead of rejecting each other, which is against the pack's law. I tried talking to Teddy about it, but he refused as he wants both Jack and Charlotte punished."

"What? I don't want my daughter to be killed, please Alpha, we have to do something to plead with Alpha Teddy on this," Beta Paul said. However, Teddy walked out of his office as he heard their conversation.

With a mocking smirk on his face, Teddy said, "Don't waste your time here, and prepare to go to the court when the day of judgment arrives to watch them receive their punishment. Cheating on your spouse isn't allowed in this pack. Irrespective of the fact that the spouse is your mate or not. Charlotte cheated on me, and she must be punished!"
