CHAPTER 2

Charlotte looked taken aback to see the woman Teddy Hudson had brought into their matrimonial home. This house had been given to Teddy and her as a wedding gift from Alpha Lucas Hudson. After the night Charlotte had accepted Teddy as her husband and chosen mate, Alpha Lucas gifted them the new duplex as their matrimonial home. For the four years that Charlotte had lived with Teddy, helping him rule over the Norfield Packs, after he took over the Alpha position from his father, Teddy had not brought any woman home. But today, on their wedding anniversary and Charlotte's 22nd birthday, Teddy arrived with another woman in his arms—a fair-skinned woman. "Can't you greet?" Teddy demanded, his green eyes glowering at Charlotte, pulling her out of her trance. "Um, good evening. Who's she?" Charlotte immediately asked Teddy, her eyes moving to stare at the young woman, who was her age, in a seductive crimson gown. "Did you just ask me who she is?" Teddy let go of the woman in his arms and drunkenly charged at Charlotte. Seizing Charlotte by the neck, Teddy said, "She's the rightful Luna of this pack, the woman who is supposed to be my wife and chosen mate. If not for the fact that you bewitched my father into accepting you as the fake Luna and my mate!" Teddy shouted at Charlotte, squeezing her neck as if to choke the life out of her. "Teddy..." Charlotte's voice trailed off as she struggled to prevent him from suffocating her. She gasped for breath, fighting to break free from Teddy's strong grip on her neck, but he wouldn’t let go. "Baby, don't kill her here. That would implicate us, and you too," a soft voice said. Finally, Teddy released Charlotte. She coughed and stumbled away from the beast of a husband she had married. With tears in her eyes, Charlotte looked from Teddy to the lady who had just spoken in disbelief. "You're right, Anne. If I kill her here, my father would find out and that would truly implicate us. Come, let me show you to our bedroom upstairs." "Teddy!" Charlotte jumped in front of the stairs in the living room. "You cannot take this w***e to our bedroom! Get her out of here immediately!" Charlotte ordered Teddy, whose anger boiled as he heard Charlotte refer to Anne Robert as a w***e. "What? Who did you call a w***e? Honey, do you hear her? I had been your mate even before you accepted this swine as your wife. I don’t want to see her inside this house. Get rid of her; she should stay outside," Anne said, bursting into tears. Teddy rushed to confront Charlotte. He dragged her away from the stairs, wearing a white shirt and black pants, some of his shirt buttons left undone. "Who did you call a w***e? My mate?" Teddy charged at Charlotte, and in front of Anne, he removed his trouser belt and began to whip her. The maids working in the mansion could only peek at them, as none dared to intervene during Teddy and Charlotte's marital disputes. Teddy had warned them that if any of the maids dared to report him to his father, he would have them killed. "Teddy! Stop! I’m sorry," Charlotte cried, but in the early hours of the night, Teddy continued to lash out at her while Anne smiled viciously. "That's enough, sweetheart. Come take me to our bedroom. I need to rest; I'm tired from tonight," Anne sweetly said, watching how Teddy had beaten Charlotte. Satisfied with how he had disciplined Charlotte, Teddy moved away from the woman crying on the tiled floor and walked over to Anne, using one hand to hold up his trousers, which had loosened from removing his belt. Anne smiled sweetly and embraced Teddy. "Good boy," she said as she kissed him in Charlotte's presence. "Come take me upstairs. I’m tired and can’t wait to have you," Anne cooed to Teddy, who had accompanied her to the neighboring pack function as his Luna. It was only right that he get rid of Charlotte. "Teddy, you dare to flog me because of this p********e?" Charlotte rose again from the tiled floor. Her blue, mesmerizing eyes still glowed even as she cried. Charlotte was pretty, sexy, curvy, but she was dark-skinned and still untouched, as Teddy hadn’t consummated their marriage. Teddy's anger surged again at Charlotte's reference to Anne as a p********e. "I see I haven't disciplined you enough. I'm going to kill you today and bury your corpse before my father arrives. What gives you the right to call Anne a p********e?" Teddy charged toward Charlotte with a murderous intent in his eyes, but Anne quickly stopped him. "No, baby. Don’t kill her; that would implicate us. Come, let's go to the bedroom and make some babies that she's unable to give you. Once we have the baby, I'll become the rightful Luna, and your father will have no choice but to accept me as your mate and chosen Luna of the Norfield Packs," Anne said. Teddy's eyes glowed with admiration for her words. "You're right. Come, let’s go," Teddy said, looking away from Charlotte angrily. His eyes shifted to Anne, who approached him sweetly in her black stiletto heels. Charlotte sobbed as she had worn a pink seductive dress to look sweet for Teddy, but he stared at her with hostility while looking at Anne Robert with love and warmth. Unable to bear the hurt and betrayal since marrying Teddy Hudson, Charlotte remembered when Teddy had told her that Anne was his bestie. He introduced Anne to her as his personal assistant, and it was only right for her to acknowledge Anne, even though she didn’t like the pretty, fair-skinned woman. Charlotte had seen the way Teddy gazed at Anne affectionately on several occasions when she followed him around, little did she know that Anne was Teddy’s true mate and not just his assistant. "Teddy! I'm not going to take this! I will end our marriage today and divorce you. I, Charlotte Mateo, reject you, Teddy Hudson, as my husband and mate!" Teddy’s eyes surged with rage as he turned to look back at Charlotte. He let go of Anne again, and with a smirk playing on his lips, he walked up to Charlotte, who was shivering and taking steps backward as he approached her. "What gives you the right to think you can divorce me, Charlotte? Are you stupid? Do you think you can just walk away from this marriage? So, you want to sabotage my name out there in front of our pack members and my parents? You wouldn’t dare! Just as Anne endured watching you parade yourself as my mate, you will endure watching Anne birth my pups." With that, Teddy turned and went upstairs with Anne, leaving Charlotte to break down in tears in the living room.
