Chapter Four I knew immediately that something wasn’t right. My muscles were stiff and sore and my head pounded. Why did I feel so bad? I opened my eyes to a dark room and tried to remember what I’d done before I’d gone to sleep. My mind searched for a clue. We’d been travelling through space for a fortnight… we’d landed… the jungle… laser fire— Now I was fully awake. My heartbeat sped up and my head pounded faster to match. I knew what I was feeling.
