"Have you lost your mind?" Asher's voice filled the dining as the drama continued to unfold.
He had voiced out exactly what was going on in my head. If anyone had told me that one of my brothers would openly declare a mate for himself, I would pick Asher as the culprit with my eyes closed.
Yet here I was, watching Ares declare his claims on a girl. On Phoenix. A f*****g Hybrid.
It gave me mixed feelings.
A part of me admired his bravery in accepting something we had all been avoiding thinking about even in our subconscious —despite the fact that we all felt a connection towards Phoenix, one way or another.
We just blatantly denied it because it was the right thing to do.
But Ares didn't.
He openly declared her as his, daring the odds that could come after.
