“Your majesty, she is fine,” Annah said with a bow as she finished repacking her tools. “Her blood is a lot stronger than it was the first time. She is not in any danger.” Her eyes moved to her wristwatch before they returned to my face. “The cut should be completely closed and healed in less than an hour.”
I nodded and watched her leave before returning my focus to Phoenix.
My legs developed thoughts of their own and I closed the distance between me and the bed. I sat at the edge, and I watched how she slept peacefully. She seemed fine and even Annah had assured me of this, yet I was… hurting.
