After getting Shell to nursery, Soom did something that was very unusual for her - she went back to bed. Not in the Western sense of wanting more sleep, she stretched out on the bedding she had slept on the night before on the living room floor in her clothes and drifted in and out of sleep to the background noise of the television. Her mother had gone to work and Craig was in his office and to her mind, no-one realised that this was the first day of the rest of her life as a widow.
