Chase was deeply relieved to find that the next lesson was his favourite – science. Feeling somewhat befuddled by his unusual morning, and far more tired than he was used to before 11 o’clock in the morning, he took a moment to look around the laboratory. It was pretty much like the ones in his old school – there were long tables, white coats and goggles, and locked cabinets full of weird and wonderful devices waiting to be fiddled with. The main difference was that, unlike Bisby Secondary, everything was gleaming and new and well-cared-for and appeared not to have come from the last century.
